Happy Valentimes!

 Anyone have anything fun planned?

Re: Happy Valentimes!

  • Oh my gosh, I love her.

We are having my bff, her H and 2yr old are coming over for dinner. I'm making roast chicken, garlic parm cauliflower, rice and cheddar biscuits. I woke up hungry thinking of dinner lol

Not a super romantic Valentine's Day but that's not really our style anyway.

  • DH and I aren't really into Valentine's Day, so no plans here.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

I knew you'd appreciate it, heh.

We're staying home tonight and having wine and pizza fondue. Tomorrow, H is "working from home," so he's going to meet me after work, and we're going to Sandrine's for a nice dinner (thanks, Groupon!).

  • What is pizza fondue???

I am using my new Le Creuset dutch oven for the first time and making a chicken in it.  I hope it works!  It's a Cooks Illustrated recipe and those are usually reliable, so I am thinking I'll be fine.  If I'm feeling motivated I will even wash some of the china to use.

  • baker, pizza fondue is really good and really easy. We make it with tomato sauce & a 1/2 packet of the McCormicks spaghetti seasoning to thicken it (though we've used pizza sauce and a bit of flour before when we ran out of the packets). Heat that mixture up, then throw in some shredded mozzarella and heat til it melts. Cut up a baguette for dipping, pour the sauce into a fondue pot, and voila! It takes about 10 minutes total.  You can add ground beef/turkey, but I prefer just the cheese version.
  • That sounds awesome!  I'm going to try it some time.

Agreed!  I've never heard of this either.

  • I'm sure that DH is working late, so I see a night of sappy lifetime movies in my future.  I do have a new lentil soup recipe in the crockpot, but I'm thinking if I'm on my own, I'm getting a pizza.

    ...hello out there!

Yum, they have great food. I love their chicken parm and I can eat so much of their bread... I obviously don't let myself go there often lol
