What kind of job is your DH looking for?

Re: **Milsey**
Honestly, "anything" (that meets his criteria). He's currently a manager at Jimmy Johns. He doesn't necessarily like working with food, but likes hands-on work (vs. a desk job). He has a salary with benefits, so ideally something that is equal (or better) value. And a consistent schedule (9-5), with no (or minimal) weekends. His current job has him working at 5AM some mornings or staying until 11PM some nights. It is not good for both our sleep schedules.
He's honestly not that picky, but has limited skills/experience. He likes IT work/cars/construction/kids but out of those 4, kids is the only thing he has experience with (but kids are in school during the day).
Okay, and I know he'll probably have to sacrifice salary or benefits or something to get better hours, but we can hope right? We're still young and understand he has to start out somewhere. However, it's scary because I'll be unemployed in June so yeah...
But THANK YOU for asking, even if you cannot help or anything, I truly appreciate you actually caring.
My DH works in tech support, and still hears about a lot of jobs through the grapevine. You said he doesn't really have experience in the IT field. Does he have any certifications? Is he looking for more of an "entry level" position then?
I'll keep my eyes and ears open too!
Not a problem. DH has been laid off from two of his past jobs and was unemployed for 18 months after Emma was born, so I know how it feels when everything is a bit up in the air jobwise. It can definitely be stressful.
No certifications, so yes, entry level. Just getting his foot in the door somewhere/anywhere. And unemployed for 18 months with an infant?! Oh no... Thank God he's working now!
It was terrible timing both times he got laid off, although let's face it -- when is it ever a good time to be laid off? lol. The first time was right after we'd bought our condo, before our wedding. The second time time was a month after Emma was born. He found out the week before Christmas. Ho Ho Ho.
Everything's honestly worked out for the best in the long run, even though it's taken me a while to realize that and not be irritated about circumstances that are beyond our control.
One of my classes for school is a Stress Management class. I have high anxiety and I'm really trying to learn how to stay calm in situations I cannot control (especially traffic). It's hard...
Ho. Ho. Ho. My butt!
