Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, ladies! Any fun plans for tonight/this week?

Re: Happy Valentine's Day!

  • Ah, it's the annual mexican food and a movie.  H got scheduled at work for tonight (boooo) so we're about to go do it now for lunch instead.  We're going to see Chronicle, I know nothing about it but I was assured I would like it.  By H.  Who probably will like it more than me, lol.

  • Because we just went to New Orleans we're not spending money on fancy anything for Valentines day. I made him a board that looks sorta like this but more modern and no fluffy roses. image My goal is to fill it out frequently so he knows how much he's loved every day, not just on Valentine's day.

I'm also going to make something yummy for dinner but haven't figured that out yet.

  • We started a new tradition last year of going to a local fondue place to celebrate. However, I found a coupon for it that is good every day BUT today...so I think we'll go out Saturday instead.

We don't have any food in the house/I don't feel like cooking tonight, so we might go to a local bar/grill. Or maybe order in? I'm still totally beat from the weekend, so I want to keep it low-key.

Musgral, that is a super cute idea!

  • No plans at all.  We were sitting on the couch last night, watching a little tv and unwinding & DH said "do you want a card and crappy flowers?"

Well...when you put it like that...

He is super unromantic, so I'm pretty sure we're just going to pretend that Valentine's Day never existed.

I did send him a Jimmy John's gargantuan, drink, chips & cookie for lunch (I had them write "Happy Valentine's Day" on the sandwich wrapper) though, since that's pretty much his favorite sandwich in the universe.

  • DH left a bunch of Thor valentines around the apartment for me to find as I got ready this morning, it was super cute. Other than that, we decided not to do anything since we're going on vacation soon. I might make cupcakes tonight, though.

It came from Pinterest, so I can't take credit. It was really cheap though. A free vector graphic from the internet, a little Illustrator magic, and a 50% off frame from Hobby Lobby. I'm pretty sure that it will devolve into absolute absurdity, but hey, gotta love him for the silly things too, right?

  • We don't really celebrate so all we're going to do tonight is make dinner. I did bake a cake though :) And H's idea of romance is coming home before 630 LOL. I might be able to convince him to watch True Blood with me.

Nora, fondue sounds sooo good! I miss my hometown's fondue place.

  • DH had to work last last night, so we are planning our romantic night out this weekend when we are in Ballarat for a wedding.  But I made a chicken pot pie and had his little gift waiting for him when he got home -- I got him some lime shower gel to add to the lemonheads I had my mother send from the US.  He got me an ice cream maker last weekend.  I feel terribly spoiled, and like I took a cheap route, but I will be making him fresh grapefruit sorbet with my gift next week.  :)

  • We don't really do much usually, but last night was really nice.

I had my 12 week appt, and we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Then, had some wendy's, and then went couch shopping. We picked out this awesome sectional, and it will be here on Friday! After that, we went to lowes, and picked up lots of fun stuff like bead boarding for the bathroom. Awesome. We ended the night by sitting on the living room floor eating dessert. Oh, and then I had to feed pepper her food by hand (starting off with one piece at a time) because she's been so scared, she hasn't eaten in days.
