Tuesday QOTD

So, since today is February 14th, the question must be asked.....

.......What are you doing for Valentines day?

Or if you already did something last weekend, or if you are one of those who feels that this is just a Hallmark holiday, that works too!

Re: Tuesday QOTD

  • We spent the weekend redecorating our master bedroom, and I am talking complete over-haul!!  The only thing that stayed the same was the furniture.  Everything else is new or different.

Tonight we are making heart shaped pancakes for dinner with my daughter.  Her request!

  • DH and I are not doing anything.  Blah.  We're too busy and just got back from vacation.
  • Brent is coming over for supper tonight.  We aren't living together but still talk often.

  • H and I went to Bonfire on Sat night. We may get a heart-shaped pizza from papa murphy's tonight. We don't usually do anything special.

  • My birthday is the 13th so we did a sort of b-day/valentines day celebration over the weekend. We went to the Minnesota History Center and out to eat.

  • We're not doing anything.  I told DH not to get me anything but I'm kind of hoping he gets at least a little something.  Guys can be so literal sometimes though so if we say "Oh honey don't get me anything" they obey!!

I usually get a sappy card and write something mushy.

  • Nothing too much. We exchanged cards this morning - I got him some chocolates (the guy is nutso for chocolate!). Sometimes he gets me flowers, but I know he is insanely busy today, so I'm not expecting them.

Tonight I am making a steak and lobster dinner with chocolate dipped strawberries and raspberries for dessert. Then we might watch a movie. Pretty blah, but I don't mind.

We very rarely go out for dinner. Mainly because we never have the time as DH works late most nights or has gigs (three this week alone!) - but also because I enjoy cooking for us. Not to mention we went to some really good restaurants while in Mexico a few weeks ago and I think we blew our "dining out" budget for the next few months!

  • We decided no gifts or cards this year. Since I made DH eat spaghetti squash last night tonight I'm making him a comfort meal: Bacon wrapped meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, roasted veggies and raspberry cream cheese brownies. His mom is going to take Samuel overnight on Sunday so we are going to do dinner and a movie then.

  • We would be at a family dinner to celebrate my BIL's birthday (yesterday) but I caught the lung crud and am going to stay home while DH goes.  We don't typically do anything big for Valentine's Day.  Just exchange cards and DH surprised me by getting some of the new Disney movies that were recently released which was sweet of him.  He made me breakfast in bed on Sunday as a surprise too.
  • We aren't doing anything. Not even a romantic dinner.

  • Meeting a girlfriend for dinner.

My H has class tonight, and her H has to work. We have been trying to find a night to get together for dinner for at least a month, and this was a night that was open for both of us, so we decided to have a girls' night out.

No Valentine's plans with H ... it's not a big deal to us and our work/school schedules are so busy we barely see each other as it is. Just having a night at home with him is a special treat these days :-)

  • We exchanged cards.  DH picked me out some amazing truffles from Painted Turtle and roses.  We got take out sushi for dinner.

  • We went to dinner last Saturday, which ended up working out great- the restaurant we went to had half price bottles of wine that night. We loved the wine, and I found a good deal on it online and ordered some for DH for a Valentine's gift. Tonight we're taking it easy and having dinner at home. Tomorrow is DH's b-day so we'll be celebrating again. A fun week for us with his b-day and Valentines right in a row.
  • Nothing. DH is on a business trip in NYC.
