MH and I decided not to get each other anything for Valentines day, but he wanted to cook me dinner. So I decided to get up super early and make him breakfast, but he usually doesn't get up right until 6:30a (He works at 7), so he grabs cereal in a cup while he is on his way out the door. This way he can put it in his cupholder and eat it on the way to work. So, when he fell asleep, I moved his clock ahead 20 minutes. Genius I am. ![]()
So I got up at 5:30 and made him orange juice, bacon, heart shaped pancakes, and heart shaped eggs. He got up at 6:10 and we got to eat breakfast together. And before he left I made him his favorite drink, a caramel macchiato, for the road!

Yes, that is definitely genius! Go you!
DH and I rarely eat breakfast together because of our sleep/work schedules so we also had breakfast together this morning (and I made pink heart shaped pancakes).
He was pretty surprised and it was nice to spend that time in the morning together, since usually, I don't even move now when he gets up in the morning.
And since I have been up since, I have gotten a lot accomplished today! Now off to the dentist.
That is incredibly sweet and thoughtful of you, he's a very lucky guy!!
I am sure he was thinking about that breakfast all day long! Great gift!
Haha, MH is never out of bed when I leave at 7:30, but this morning his alarm went off at 5:15-- dummy had a meeting at 6:00 so I was up and running around to get the surprise breakfast ready while he was in the shower. It was just heart-shaped donuts and coffee, though!
Aw, you are making us look bad.
I made H eggs this morning, that is all.

That sounds like the perfect way to start the day!
An American Girl's Travels
well that is more than I did, foodwise! Apparently I won't even cook breakfast on special occasion days, I am a bad wife.
He did seem pleased with the chocolates, card, and boxers I gave him this morning, including a pair of Angry Birds boxers. He'd probably think I was running a fever if I get up early to cook breakfast, that's definitely out of my scope of duties. haha
So sweet and clever!
I'm glad I'm not the only driver on the road eating cereal out of a cup!
