Appliance vent

I just got a new range after mine decided to die on Christmas Eve...  I went to preheat the oven last night and it wouldn't do anything.  My burners will light and the clock and screen are working so I don't know what is wrong.  Bleck!  I called to make a service appointment and they will be here Monday.  What is it that makes you want to bake your butt off when you have no oven?

I also ordered a new dryer almost 3 weeks ago because mine had rust on the inside which left us with a mess of stained laundry.  My ILs gave us their old one to use (they just got a new set) until ours came in ....  Well it died last week and won't heat at all, just blows cool air.  Again, the gas is on and the power is too, obviously.  I have hot water and a working furnace.  :)

So when we ordered our dryer they said we were looking at a 2 week wait because it was special order.  Today they say it looks like it is another 4 weeks out but can't be sure it will even be here then.  $^&$%#%$#@#%&  I am so freaking annoyed and I wonder if I should have just gone to the big box store to buy it, a $50 savings is so not worth the ~6 week wait.  This is our first time using this store (puppy, I know you love this place) but we feel like we have had the worst service from them.

Someone tell me I am being ridiculous and it is ok to wait ~6 weeks for a new (super awesome) dryer.

Re: Appliance vent

  • The LG steam dryer.
  • 6 weeks is a ridiculous amount of time to have to wait for any appliance, IMO.  Sounds like a frustrating experience, hope you have your dryer soon!!

  • To me, 6 weeks is ridiculous! They better give you an additional discount for the longer delay, free install, and free delivery. Even with a working dryer, I probably still wouldn't wait that long, unless they made it worth it.
  • Yuck.  I'd be asking for a refund and heading to the big box store.  That's not okay.

  • Did they say why it would take six weeks? Keeping in mind..what is offered at the big box store and what is offered at Metro aren't the same thing.
  • That's a really long time to wait. Is the same appliance available at a big box store? I'm pretty sure that most of them would price match if there is a $50 price difference.

Would you explain this a bit more?  The model numbers are the same as well as the "list price".  They just keep saying that their rep doesn't have it and we are waiting on LG.  Jesse's parents just bought a few things there and they got WONDERFUL service but the last two times we have tried to purchase appliances there we have been left with a bad taste.
