f/u to flowers on vday
ok.. so i really want flowers for vday from h. i said that in the post.. anyway, i was using the bathroom and walk out and there is h, telling my coworkers that he doesn't buy them because i don't appreciate them and tell him how he spent too much money.
heart broken. i really want flowers..
he came to pick me up for a quick lunch. that was sweet.
anyway, on the way, i told him that flowers would have been perfect and he said that he doesn't want to buy me flowers from a grocery store and the only places that have nice flowers are the places that cost a lot.. he is nuts. but whatev. i get it, he wants to save money and i appreciate that. but his comment bummed me out!

Safeway has really nice roses. Maybe let him know that they will be much cheaper tomorrow, so that would be a really good idea to get them tomorrow and make his wife

I will say one thing.. I have told H before that if he doesn't want to buy them on V-Day I get it..but I still want them, if it's a week before or a week later whatever.
I've worked in the flower industry and the amount that they jack up the prices for flowers at Valentines day is ridiculous. Rose often cost at least $10 more per dozen than they regularly do. etc.
That all being said I think that these men in our lives don't understand that we don't care about them trying to save money all the time, sometimes it's about the little expressions such as flowers going a long way. Obviously huge differences in "love languages" is why they don't get it.
Now I wait to see if H comes home with some flowers or not tonight.

and a single stem costs a fortune.. he'd be better of getting a dozen.. he'll still save himself money if he buys a dozen

All flowers this time of the year are raised in greenhouses for the most part. Cost of heating is higher etc. but it's also a sales gimmick because they know people will buy them no matter what the price. After all they need to have flowers for Valentines!

The guy I dated before DH...his birthday is on Valentine's Day. Therefore, he absolutely refused to ever get me anything on V-Day. He said it was his special day, not mine. So I always told him what Johlise said....we don't have to celebrate V-day on the 14th, but let's pick a random day that we'll celebrate and do something for each other. Yeah......that never worked either.
DH did get me flowers today, and he got them at Safeway. They're really pretty! There are a few roses in the bouquet, but there are also daisies and lilies.
