Bachelor--Ben is an idiot (spoilers)

I can't help it though, I think his foolishness is highly entertaining.

Courtney has him wrapped around her little finger.   She's so manipulative.   I wonder if he got rid of Emily mostly because Courtney pretty much told him to.    If I were on this show and I someone constantly tell me, "uh oh, I've lost the spark" I'd tell them to leave.    She pulls the same thing every week, and every time she threatens to leave or says her feelings may be fading, his eyes tear up!  I swear he almost starts crying!

I do find it kind of funny that men get so protective over women who "don't have girlfriends."   It's like there's some sort of conspiracy that pretty girls shouldn't have friends.    I guarantee I have never picked on or didn't want to be friends with a pretty girl because she's pretty.     Courtney doesn't have girl friends because girls can see she's a twit, but guys are too busy ogling her to notice her personality defects.

  • You know at night he probably jumps around his room, all giddy, because this model is paying attention to him.  Ben is just this teenage boy at heart.  I can understand him being skeptical about what Emily was telling him about Courtney, but when you have other girls echoing the same feelings...

  • He is an idiot.  And, although Courtney is a professional model, I thought Emily was the prettiest girl there!   I thought their date seemed so fun, playful and normal.

  • Yeah, he's an idiot and he'll get what he deserves. I have no problem with him picking Courtney--they are a match made in heaven (or hell maybe).

I liked Emily a lot but I could never figure out why the heck she liked Ben. She is way too smart, pretty, and classy to be with a douche like him.

All of this, especially the last paragraph. She really played the victim this episode, even in her confessional. It was hilarious.

  • I wish he would drop the whole charade about wanting a wife, and just admit he's looking for a fun fling with a model who has dated C list celebrities.  Courtney will chew him up and spit him out (if she hasn't already).  Hope he's smart enough to know this is coming.  He clearly is NOT marriage material yet, if she's his girl. (yet, hello - obviously few Bachelor/ettes are since they continually pick wrong).

But just think how boring the season would have been with no Courtney.  Everyone else left seems to like each other, and are relatively mature = bad reality TV.

I personally like Nicki - she's so cute, has some real world relationship experience, and I love that she looks healthy - not stickly.

Anyone else suspect Lindzi may be back as a Bachelorette?

  • I keep telling DH that I feel like this season is a repeat of Jake/Vienna's season, because of how the Bachelor keeps picking the most horrible girl there, the one no one likes, the one who is there for all the wrong reasons... I feel like the "Ali" of the season is Emily, because Ali tried to warn Jake just as Emily tried repeatedly to warn Ben. Courtney has Ben completely wrapped around her finger, I was SO disgusted with her behavior on this last episode (even though she was clearly wasted) at the rose ceremony, with the skipping routine to accept the rose, then turning to Emily and very ostentatiously sniffing the rose, totally rubbing it in her face that she was being sent home, to the rude comments under her breath, etc.

I forgot to mention her comment about Kacie, who I really like... she said she is a little girl, in a little boy's body (WTF??). I find that quite ironic, Courtney is not only fairly lanky but also acted like a child at the rose ceremony.

Ugh. Well if she does wind up being the winner, I predict she and Ben lasting maybe a month, then I foresee a nasty reunion on Bachelor Pad Wink

  • I don't get the appeal of Ben.  He's kind of a jerk I think (the way he spoke to Emily like he was her father and telling her to drop it about Courtney, the way he dismissed that one girl and simply told her to leave, the constant comments about how everyone looks, etc.).  He seems kind of dumb, really, and I don't find him to be that attractive with his dishevelled hair and clothes.  He looks like he needs a bath, a shave, and a cut.  He doesn't seem mature enough for a committed relationship.

Completely agree with all of this. I never liked him much to begin with but then when I saw how he reacted to Emily trying to warn him, I knew for sure that he was a total jerk.  He was so condescending and nasty to her and basically said "it's none of your f*ing business and you better watch your step"

And this week I couldn't believe it when he said "I find it really hard to believe what Emily was telling me about Courtney..."  Wtf? Why do you find it hard to believe? Emily comes across as way more intelligent and trustworthy than Courtney. This guy has his head screwed on backwards.

Then did you notice that when Courtney was talking sh*t about all the other girls this week Ben's reaction was "oh I know it's sooo hard for you! It's so hard for you and I wish I could comfort you"   Such a hypocrite.

Totally agree, I thought the same thing the other night, Ben said NOTHING to Courtney when she was talking trash about the other girls, yet he totally went out of his way to shut down Emily (and yes in a very condescending way) for saying something about her. Ugh...
