I have an addiction and a question
LOL! I bought a cast iron pan just to make tortillas that I saw in a blog here. All my cast iron is the colorful stuff with a coating and I needed the plain stuff. I can't wait to get home and get my amazon box.
It says it is preseasoned. Should I do anything to it before I use it the first time?
Thanks!
Re: I have an addiction and a question
It never hurts to season it again, but you don't have to (if you want you can just rub it with some sort of fat - shortening, oil, bacon grease, etc. and then put it in a hot oven, upside down for about an hour - put something on the bottom of your oven to catch any spills from the fat/prevent burning).
After you wash/dry it completely, I always rub mine with some oil before storing.
