Parenthood 2/14 SPOILERS

Wow. Drew crying made me cry. The show isn't over yet, but I had to post!

Re: Parenthood 2/14 SPOILERS

  • I <3 drew!  Did not love Sarah calling Seth though, but whatever they have is clearly not over.

and isn't the next step in a serious relationship usually marriage, not a baby?

Amber was being stupid but I don't think Kristina had a right to barge in on them, they are adults making stupid choices.

I really don't think Julia and Joel are going to get that baby next week :(  although from the preview I guess it's possible Zoey left so she wouldn't have to hand off the baby to them herself.  It's possible she just had the baby, signed off parental rights, and left, right?  I don't think they'd really lead us on this far to have them not get the baby, but who knows.

  • Oh, Drew! I'm glad that focused on him, he so often is overlooked. But he was so sweet, still just holding out that hope that maybe, just maybe, his parents might get back together. I don't think it was a problem that Sarah called Seth, she was calling to give him the heads up about Drew, not to ask his permission. But I still think it's super stupid that they are "trying to get pregnant" without really any other shows of major commitment.

I get that Haddie had some concerns about Amber, and felt like she wanted to share with her mother, but I do think that Kristina really didn't have the right to barge in. It seemed like she was thinking of both Amber and the campaign, but still, it was a bit over the top.

LOVED that Max made a friend!!

I'm super worried about the adoption, and have been from the start. At this point, I think anything is possible. Separating from Zoe is going to be hard for Julia.

And Jasmine- what are they doing with her?? I'm not looking forward to re-hashing all of that with Crosby and Jasmine AGAIN next week...

I said this aloud while watching. Marry the guy if you're that serious. I would be pissed I was Drew. Give your kids some stability.

Christina was WAY out of line. She works for Bob. She had no right to tell him to get out and she had no right to tell Amber to get in the car. I was waiting for Amber to say No or Bob to tell Christina she was fired. They can do whatever they want to (even if it is dumb). Amber leaving with her was ridiculous.

Julia is driving me crazy. Zoe has told her she wanted a closed adoption to begin with, but Julia won't leave her alone.

Love that Max invited a friend over.

  • I agree with everyone!  Marriage should be the next step, not a baby!!

I do think that the adoption will happen.  I think Zoey will just leave the hospital and leave the baby for them.

I HATE the whole Crosby/Jasmine thing.  They need to figure it out and move on.

I think that Max is an excellent character and love how Christine and Adam deal with him.  Kudos to them for it!

I agree with all of this, 100%.

When you're 19, you don't feel yet that you have complete control of your own decisions, especially with older family members.  But, yeah, she has her own place, she's an adult, she can make her own decisions. I was really hoping she'd tell Kristina to sod off and go home.

  • I think what Christina did was what a lot of aunts/mothers would have done. I think Amber being 19 makes her a LEGAL adult, but she is still NINEteen. And Bob is 28. I thought that situation was not out of the realm of what many mothers/parents would do....finding the room and bardging in was a little over the top, Amber isn't 16, BUT I also see the other side. I thought Haddie telling Christina was a little bit tattle tale, though, considering she snuck around with Alex forever.

I cried 2x: When Drew had his scene, and when Max's friend, Micah, came over. Micah's parents talking to Max's parents.....I cried.

The whole Sarah having a baby w/Mark? What are you, 16? I think after last night with drew, she will realize (slowly) that having a baby with Mark is probably not the best idea.

Crosby/Jasmine......yeah, that is not going away, I just deal with it every week..

Zoey probably left the hospital after she had the baby so she doesn't have to see J & J again.

  • I will really hate it if the Crosby and Jasmine thing plays out. I am not impressed by her at all.

I also don't love the Sarah and Mark baby thing. And I cant help it, I absolutely love John Corbett, so, I would like to see him step up.

But, I thought Christina going to get Amber was great! I think that Bob has a creepy face and I dont like him.

  • Since when has Christina not been over the top? Professionally speaking, he may be her boss, but she could essentially lose her job with a scandal. Bob pisses me off. Attracted to a girl 9 years his junior and citing her vulnerability as part of it. Creep!
  • Sigh.  I had to take awhile to think about the episode before posting here.  There are so many things going on that I just don't like:

    - Sarah and Mark wanting a baby, but they don't even effing live together?  And Sarah not telling her other two kids about this beforehand?  I swear, every season we see more reasons why Sarah mostly sucks as a mom.  Poor Drew.  I assume that Mark will feel like he needs to back off and then they'll break up.  Then Mark will get another show.

    - Bob and Amber.  GROSS.  I just can't take it.  Kristina was crazy for barging in on them, of course, but Bob and Amber just have zero chemistry.  It was so disgusting for me to watch.  Also it really bothers me that Bob has no lips.

    - Julia is kind of out of control.  I know that it's a stressful situation with Zoe, but she drives me crazy sometimes.  Where is Joel?  We need more Joel.

    - And yeah, Jasmine/Crosby.  I assume that the only reason for this is that the cast is expanding and they can't afford to pay them all, so they have to get rid of Dr. Joe and Cello Girl.

  • I'm definitely in the minority here...I really like Amber and Bob. I think he seems like a really nice guy and he makes Amber happy. She gets nervous around him and really seems to like him too!

Double standard with the age thing too...it's not like she's 16. Sarah and Mark are probably 10 years apart! Amber is an adult - she lives on her own and does her own thing. However, her leaving with Kristina really showed her immaturity - she should have stood up to her and said no. Bob is definitely older, and it probably won't work out, but that's how Amber is going to learn and grow. It's not like he's a jerk that's beating her up or verbally abusing her. He treats her well.

    Amber and Bob rant over.

Julia needs to leave Zoe alone. I can't tell if she's doing it for Zoe or doing it to keep the baby safe. I dunno...I guess her providing her with the GED flashcards would be to benefit Zoe and not the baby...

Sarah and Mark - wow, that whole situation is crazy and stupid. Like others have said...they don't even LIVE together! And why in the world would Sarah not tell her kids.

Loved the whole thing between Zeek and Crosby. I was annoyed by Crosby at first...but he was really just worried.

    Jasmine and Crosby...ugh.

  • I loved when Max had a friend come over. So sweet! I cried at that part. It was sweet to see how both sets of parents were so dang happy for their kids.

I hope that Zoe left the baby and we won't have to see her again. She gets on my nerves a bit.

And Haddie needs to chill out with being a tattle tale.

  • I think the next logical step (even before marriage), is Sarah getting out of her PARENT'S house before considering another baby Stick out tongue

  • My coworker just pointed out that the season finale for parenthood is in two weeks she said they caped the season at 18 episodes.  Jessica Simpson?s new fashion show is taking over the time slot.  Ugh I am annoyed.

  • I was upset at the Sarah storyline. I hated the "its the next logical step." That is BS. She hasn't been dating him very long, he has never spent time with her kids or family. That is dumb. And really....if you were going to have a baby with your boyfriend, wouldn't it be nice to talk to your late teen children about it? You aren't obligated to take their advice but I think telling them how serious the relationship is and perhaps what to expect would be nice since they are old enough to comprehend it. I dunno. It bugged me and I really like Sarah.

I BURST into tears when Max's friends parents said "he has never had a friend." OMG. I lost it. That whole conversation had me in tears. I loved it.

Amber is legal and 19 but I think Kristina was just watching out for her professional future. And she probably felt that Bob might have been taking advantage of her and their "working" relationship by bringing her on the trip. I'm conflicted though because technically, it wasn't illegal but it still seems wrong in a way.

I hope they get the baby and Zoe just leaves. She is annoying. I hope Crosby doesn't take Jasmine back just so he can have a family. That is played out.

  • Can we all just rejoice that Haddie fixed her awful poodle hair from the start of this season?

    AMEN

  • I hope I'm wrong but I kinda got the vibe that Christina thinks the whole Bob/Amber thing is all Amber's doing.

THIS is what has been killing me! Seriously! She is 40! How about she gets her own place? Then get a husband. Then a baby! I can only imagine how dumb she was 20 years ago when she had her first kids!

Drew was so so sweet and sad. I love that kid.

I felt bad for Amber. Yes, they were making a mistake but I thought Kristina was out of line. She can't barge in every time. It was ridiculous.

I was so happy for Max as well. That was so sweet, especially watching their parents. I am imagining my 2 kids never having a friend! Sad

I have to say this in every Parenthood post. Jasmine = Ick!

  • imageJazzFlute:
Can we all just rejoice that Haddie fixed her awful poodle hair from the start of this season?

Yes!  I actually thought she looked pretty cute in the episode.

I agree that I don't like Bob and Amber together, he just seems to be totally not her type, but Kristina is freaking psycho and had no right to go busting in there.  I understand the whole looking out for her niece thing, but Amber is not a child.  If Kristina was worried about the situation, she could have sat Amber down and talked with her about it, and calmly voiced her concerns about the whole situation.  But to bust in there and tell her own boss to get out and drag Amber out like she's 15 was just annoying.  Of course, Kristina is annoying most of the time, but still it pissed me off.

I also agree that Sarah needs to get the eff out of her parents house and get married if they're that serious, before bringing another kid into this world.  I realize she's 40 and all, and doesn't want to wait a long time, but still.

And yes, more Joel is what this show needs!

    Hahah YES

  • I think Haddie telling on Amber was really shiitty. Even though I think Amber's relationship with her boss is super inappropriate (not because of age, but because of the power angle), Haddie should have kept her mouth shut.

When Max asked whether a wheelchair could fit through his doorway I about died from happiness.

I got this vibe too.  Which would be a shame because it seemed like Amber was really good at her job.  Maybe I'm just impressed because I am horrible with names and faces.
