Has anyone ever rented a pressure washer?

I'm trying to rent a pressure washer this saturday to do some exterior cleaning (porch, roofline where dirty water drips from the gutters, windows, some large planters). Has anyone done this, specifically from Home Depot? They don't reserve them, so I'm probably going to go in around 7am to try to get one, as I assume Saturday is a popular day to rent them. I believe they only have gas-powered washers. I'm only familiar with electric ones (my dad has one). Any tips or tricks? Will it come filled, or will I have to do it? Will I need to get a gas can for this?

Re: Has anyone ever rented a pressure washer?

  • I know from time to time, my neighbors (though they never included us) will get together and rent one for the weekend, all chipping in, dividing up the time and just generally getting a lot done.
  • Make sure you use the right spray nozzel for what you are working on. If it is too pressurized, it will take chunks out of your deck, etc.

We have used FFIL's and it goes through gas really quickly since it is a small tank. I would suggest having a gas can on hand with a gallon or two just in case.
