Ocean City, MD Boardwalk Condo Rec

Looking to vacation in Ocean City, MD this summer with my sister and her family.  I haven't been there in about six years and usually stayed in a hotel during the off-season when I did.  I know that there are not many condos on the Boardwalk, but wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations.  My sister cannot swing Belmont Towers.  Don't need anything super fancy, but there are just way too many dumps there too!

We are committed to staying in Ocean City and near the Boardwalk - prefer oceanside, but Bayside would be okay too (I feel like there are nice condos by the bars on the inlet)!

TIA!

  • I'm not a huge fan of OCMD, especially staying that close to the boardwalk so I don't really have any suggestions.  However, you might want to post this on the Baltimore board - I'm sure there are a few people that'll have ideas for you.

  • I see a line of "Nowalk condominiums" around the boardwalk that look really new...

If you go to one of the realtor companies, they often have websites for rentals, we've used:

    http://www.holidayoc.com/index.php

    http://www.shorepro.com/

    http://www.cbvacations.com/

the pictures or lack there of are generally informative

We've stayed at Bahia Vista, Laguna Vista, and Mariners Watch...all on the bayside but REALLY nice and close to the boardwalk.

  • I have been to OCMD every year of my life. we've stayed all over - literally from 120th down to the boards.

We stayed at Harbour Island (Bayside) for years and it is was super nice.  It's actually where anglers weigh in for the White Marlin Open, so if you are in OCMD that week in August it's pretty cool to see (and i am not a fisherman!)  The little restaurant was very tasty too.  The only "bad" thing about bayside is you really have to hoof it to the beach with all your crap.  And if the little kiddos need naps, etc, it makes for a lot of long walks back and forth (crossing coastal highway + probably 4-5 blocks oceanfront and then back to bayside).   We stopped staying there when my niece came along!

we recently began staying on the boardwalk in a really, really nice 3BR/3BA condo on 5th street.  I forget what it is called!!  the prices are equivalent to Belmont Towers - I think for something nice directly on the boardwalk you are going to pay $$$.
