BR swollen lymph nodes?
For a few weeks now Charlie has had a swollen lymph node on the back of his head. I brought it up at his 2 month check up and pedi said not to worry about it unless it keeps getting larger or if more swell.
I read that the ones on the back of the head swell when babies are fighting off illness and disease. But nothing I read tells me what kind of illness or disease. So of course this makes me think the worst possible scenarios!
Jamie had a cold and now I have it, so I'm wondering if maybe this is Charlie fighting it off. I don't know.
In the past couple days, the one that was already swollen got bigger, and now there's another one that's slightly swollen on the other side of his head. I'm not sure if I should be concerned at this point, or if I should take him in to see the pedi?
Anyone else dealt with this or know more about lymph node swelling?

If this was a question about bronchiolitis or RSV, I would have the answers, but swollen glands are one thing we have not had issues with.
My first suggestion is STOP READING! I do this too and it only drives me insane, so please save yourself the added stress.
Second, if there are any questions, please don't ever hesitate to contact your pediatrician. Hell, I swear I'm calling mine every other week... even if you just explain it to the nurse, it's nothing they haven't already heard. Maybe they'll want you to come in, maybe not... but a call can never be bad if it'll ease you.

Both bolded were the first two things that popped in my mind too.
While googling can sometimes be informative, most of the time it adds way more stress than it worth because its full of horror stories and worst case scenarios.
And definitely, if it's something that you feel really unsure or worried about, call your pediatrician. Trust me, they are used to all kinds questions and concerns, especially from first time moms. I have asked some probably really stupid questions (like when I realized Phoenix's soft spot is closing uneven, so it creates a ridge...I was mostly joking when I suggested the possibility of some Klingon lineage), but my pediatrician has been really good about encouraging me to ask anything because she's a lot better source than Dr.Google.
My lymph nodes in my neck swell all.the.effing.time when I get sick. Any illness that deals with my sinuses, allergies, respiratory tract, throat, or ears and they swell up like Jordan almonds. So I wouldn't worry about it too much, especially since you and H have both been sick.
However since there's been a change (new swelling) I'd take him to the doctor to be on the safe side. And I agree with MB: stop reading. I freak out consulting Dr. Google about my dogs; I can only imagine how stressful and anxiety ridden it would be if it were my child.
What happened when the doctor called back?? I hope everything is OK!
And I completely concur with everyone's advice so far. I stopped reading after the 1st month of being pregnant because I couldn't take being paranoid over something being possibly wrong when in fact things were perfectly normal. Not that it's a bad thing to get informed but I think most of that stuff emphasizes the worse case scenarios.
