Inspection for home how many hours did it take?

Our inspection was only partially completed yesterday with the inspector coming back with a plumber to fix the water main so he can inspect the pipes but I was curious how big was the home you had inspected and how long did it take the inspector? The one we are under contract with is roughly 4100sf only 2800 of it finished and the inspector was there for 8 hours... We dont get a walk through until monday because they arent technically done with the inspection and repairs needed to complete it.

  • Ours is like 3000 sq feet and it took like 4 hours. He also had to come back bc the pilot light on the water heater was not turned on.

  • Ours was about 4 hours too. Our guy was EXTREMELY thorough.

  • Ours was 4 hours for about 1500 livable sf.  He showed us everything and gave us some remodeling ideas which were great.

  • Ours was about 4 hours.  The termite inspector was there at the same time, but he only took about an hour.
  • Almost 4 hours with almost 2100 SF. We also did a radon test (10 mins) and spot lead testing (about 30-45 mins).

  • thank you guys :) now I am a little worried as to what he found that kept him so interested. They do warranty their work too for one year so if they say something is good and it breaks they replace or fix it...wondering if maybe they take longer because of that?

  • Ours was about 3 hours for 3,200 sq ft. The private well inspector and the septic inspector was also there at the same time. Our house was built in 2005 with an addition in 2009 so a lot of things were updated and easy to access.

  • 3.5 hours for 1,300 livable square feet, plus an additional 800 or so in an unfinished basement and an 800 sq foot garage.
  • Our first one was just around 3 hours for 1200 sq feet. Our recent one was just under 4 hours for 2900 sq feet and very complete.  But we were there with the inspector the entire time so I could see what he found and also note anything else.  Did you not go with him?  I've never known someone to not have one of the buyers there during the whole inspection.

  • Our inspector was there for 5 hours in 2100 sqft. We were there for the last hour when he pointed out everything he found, no major problems with the house, lots of little things he showed us to be aware of.
  • Our home inspection took 4 hours for a 3800 sqft home. We also had a separate pool and termite inspector there at the same time.

  • Ours was 4 hours and then a 1 hr walk through with us at the end.  The sewer scope, radon test, and something else were separate.
