I have tried a few different target heart rate calculators online. I get different numbers from each of them. I checked my heart rate on the hand sensor bars (which I know can be wrong) after I finished a running portion of C25k and it said it was 204 bpm (my resting is around 75 bpm). According to all the things I have seen online, the highest one said my max should be lower than that. Should I be worried? Is there an actual maximum heart rate that I should not go past?
I started looking into max heart rates because I would like to try to get a better estimate of how many calories I burn. Can someone recommend a decent HRM for this purpose that isn't too expensive?
Re: Heart rate question
Those hand things are crazy. One second, my heartrate will be 195. I let go and grab again and it's 75. Umm, no.
That said, my garmin has a hrm with chest strap. My heartrate has hit over 200 before. I think your max heart rate is really an individual thing. Obviously my max is greater than 190 or whatever it "should" be because it goes over that and I'm still here.
