2 Travel Questions

1. In laws need a hotel in Newark, NJ that they can then leave their car at for a week. I asked this question 2 years ago and I want to say Matthew24 recommended a place that we used and for the life of me, I can't remember where it was.

2. We really need a night away. Next Saturday we're helping our friends move to Haddenfield, NJ and from there would like to go somewhere for the night. Any suggestions? The first thing that came to mind is AC but we gamble. I wanted to see if someone could suggest a place that I'm just simply not thinking of.

Thanks!

Re: 2 Travel Questions

  • 1- I would think at the airport

2- What about Peddlers Village or New Hope?

  • night away: what about center city and you can pub-hop from beer bar to beer bar.

This was also our list of possibilities.

The only reason I was ruling out New Hope is because we've been there so many times. Eventhough we live closer to center city, we don't go often enough and there is probably more to "explore" there.

I was also thinking Cape May but I'm afraid that would be kinda...boring?

  • 1. Does it need to be at a hoel?

    2. Do you gamble, or no?  I say AC but stay at the Chelsea or Harrah's and get a spa treatment (or at Harrahs, sit around the indoor pool).

I thought a hotel would be nice because their flight is at 10am I think and they were thinking of going up the night before so they don't have to wake up early, deal with rush hour, etc.

We do not gamble but a spa treatment would sure be awesome!

  • I was going to say Cape May but you already thought of it.  Depends on what type of night you want.  Relaxing and quiet CM would be perfect.  I think AC with a spa treatment sounds nice personally.
  • PS. Wave hi on your way to Haddonfield.  :-)
  • 1. It is Country Inn and Suites in Newark.

    2. I agree with the New Hope  and/or Lambertville suggestion. I think Lambertville has a cute bed and breakfast which I believe is called the Lambertville Inn.

Is that near you? (btw..we need to iron out our nyc plans!)

I guess we need to talk more about what kind of night out we want and then go from there.

Matthew...THANKS! their flight is at 8:30, not 10. Not sure how I forgot since I just booked it for them less than 48 hrs ago.

  • We spent a night at Harrah's recently. I wish we could have gone and hung out at the indoor pool, but we literally for there at midnight and I had to leave at noon the next day to make it back for class.

    Yes, like 10 minutes away.

I was just thinking about NYC this morning.  I'm so excited.
