who is your favorite tv chef/cook?
and what is your favorite recipe or dish to cook from them?
Re: who is your favorite tv chef/cook?
Alton Brown, hands down. I'm a science nerd, so he's the obvious choice. I don't know if I can pick just one, but a couple of my favorites:
The Chewy
Overnight Cinnamon Rolls
Southern Biscuits
Roast Turkey
So Tasty, So Yummy
Ina (I have so many favorites its hard to choose). Agree with Politics Chick about Beatty's Chocolate Cake. I also love her Roast Chicken with Croutons.
I'm another Alton Brown fan.
I swear by his pie crust.
My favorites are not on tv so much anymore. I guess in the new world of Food Network and fancy food, the easy, simple things get left behind.
But I really liked James Barber who hosted The Urban Peasant and his recipes are easy and really good. I love his skillet pizza.
And I like Father Dominic Garramone, who hosted a series called Breaking Bread with Father Dominic. It was informative and fun, and made yeasted breads not nearly as scary as they seem.
