Hi, I just joined this website and made my first posting yesterday. Today I logged on and I was "banned" because Becca474 reported me.
I am new to this forums/blogging/message board thing, but I don't understand what I did wrong. I am an aspiring entrepreneur who just started my own business making yoga mats with university logos. I am trying to get feedback from other like minded individuals to see if they think this business idea is a good idea and worth pursuing (of course I think it is a good idea but I wanted to hear from others outside of my family).
So after reading other peoples' threads I thought everyone seemed pretty friendly and on the same wavelength as me in their aspirations to live a healthy active life.
My last thread as UTyogi was an honest thread hoping for your advice and feedback on my new business start-up. It was not an advertisement. My apologies if that was misusing the message board.
Anyway, if anyone has the time to give me feedback on my new business start up, I would greatly appreciate it.
If this has offended someone, I apologize and please let me know what I am doing wrong so I don't make the mistake on any future message boards.

How else can I get feedback if you don't see the product? I will happily take down the website from my original response.
Maybe I haven't had enough caffeine yet this morning but you seem sincere enough, so I'll answer your last question-you can definitely get feedback without seeing the product. For example-if the price was right, the materials good, and the cuteness factor was high enough yes I miiiiiight consider getting a yoga mat with a big fat Ohio State logo on it. There ya go...feedback!
In case you haven't noticed, the Nest has pretty clear rules on vendors posting on the boards and as you've experienced will not hesitate to ban someone that they feel is violating said rules. In addition, those who post on these boards are particularly sensitive to vendors posting and will not hesitate to report them if they feel they're trying to sell their product. While your intent may have been good, posting the link to your website makes it look like you're trying to sell your yoga mats here and that isn't cool. You may call getting reported rude, but we call it not putting up with BS from vendors-posting to ask "hey, do you think there would be a market for xyz product" is very different from "hey, I make xyz product! Would you look at the website on which it so happens you can buy them and tell me if you'd buy one? Here's the link for handy dandy access".
And fyi you may have all your ducks in a row with this already or you may not...but many major (and some smaller) colleges/universities have pretty tight licensing rules on who can and can't use their logo and will charge you for the licensing right to use it on your product. If you haven't arranged for those rights yet, I would look into the laws before you get sued.

This. I know my alma mater is VERY strict about licensing, so much so that they're one of the only schools where I can't find fleece/fabric with their logo to make blankets, etc. at the fabric store.
So sorry I was so "so rude". But if you read the rules before you posted then you would have realized you aren't supposed to solicit for business on these boards and your first post read of solicitation. We get a lot of spam on this board for tons of fitness/health related stuff so reporting happens pretty frequently.

This. My DH works in collegiate athletics and universities are very very strict about how their images/logos are used. ESPECIALLY those schools in major conferences.
