Project Runway 2-16
If Austin Scarlett said "conspicuous consumption" one more time I was going to kill him. Also, I hate how he has about three adjectives in every sentence he uses to describe his design.
Didn't really like any of the designs to be honest. I was confused why Kenley seemed to be thinking she was doing a different challenge than everyone else (vintage thrift?). But hated how everyone else seemed to think rich meant shiny, metallic, or fake fur. Blah.
I am glad Kara is finally put out of her misery.

I actually understood and agreed with the judging tonight. The challenge was about something for stage, which is entirely different than designing something for the masses. To read from the audience it really has to come on strong. Anything too refined will be lost on stage, and this character was all about excess.
Michael's costume did have that Chiquita banana kind of thing going on, but that didn't mean that it wouldn't work with the challenge. It just wasn't as good a fit as Mondo's or Austin's outfits were. They were very different from each other, but both appropriate for the stage and for the character. DH was convinced that Sutton Foster was going to want to wear Mondo's costume irl. lol I thought his costume was very well thought out and was amazing.
Kenley's jacket was beautifully constructed, and the style could have worked for the challenge, but her choice of fabrics and her mindset were both way off the mark. She is so weird.
I thought that both Mila and Kara should have gone home a long time ago. I do understand why they kept Mila over Kara though....I just never understood why either was even on an all-star show.
Oh come on! We all need her laughter in our lives.

This! I was confused too! They complimented everyone's outfits on the runway and it made me wonder who was in the top and the bottom all the way until they started making people walk off the stage! What horrible judging when you can't even tell whose they liked and whose they didn't!
WHY THE HECK WAS KARA SENT HOME OVER MILA?? Kara's at least looked sophisticated, whereas Mila's just looked trashy like one of the judges said-- it could've been worn by a hooker (Pretty Woman before she was pretty)! The judging in this series is so off-base that I can't even handle it, especially between this episode and last week's!
I actually liked Kenley's though, but not for this challenge. And I was awfully confused how she kept saying "thrifty thrifty thrifty" when she was supposed to be making an outfit for a rich woman!
Mondo was awesome and I'm glad he won. I feel a little bad for Austin since it seems like every time he almost wins, Mondo does instead. But Mondo's was way better and I want him to win the show anyway.
It has been time for Kara to go for awhile so I'm glad she finally left. I don't really get why she was on this show to begin with. I also don't like Mila, and think she should've gone home for this challenge too. That outfit was terrible.
I get that rich IRL is different from rich on-stage, but I didn't understand all the outfits. Michael's was cool, but not for this challenge. It looked like something SJP would wear to an event though. Austin really annoys me, his design was fine though, but he just personally gets on my nerves! After his little banter with Isaac I kinda see how Isaac was probably just like him when he was younger.

About the only thing I liked in this episode was Mondo's hair.
One of the judges said that this was the best that Kara has done, but that he still didn't like it. If she has never done any better than THAT, why was she never sent home? Rami did some great things, did one bad thing, and was sent home. But Kara got to stick around for all this time just to send that weird, horrible thing down the runway.
I hope Kinley feels like a jerk for telling Kara over and over again how awesome the design was before they walked down the runway!
