S/O weekend plans. I am seeing my Dad tonight

Blargh. I usually only see him once a year, so I guess this is my obligatory visit. We are meeting at a bar/restaurant that is halfway between both our houses. Jer is going thank god!
He isn't a bad guy, but we just don't have anything in common and it is so weird everytime. He shakes my hand when he sees me and does not make eye contact.
He likes Jer more than me I think, which should make for some conversation and not just crickets.
Wish me luck. I am soooooo not looking forward to this.

I should have invited my brother for a little "buffer" but I didn't think of it. It is annoying because he gets along with my siblings so well and talks to them daily or weekly.
I have always been the outcast, but it is all good!
He also usually says: "how ya doin' man?".
Wow, that is awkward.
Good luck! I'm sure with Jer there the visit will seem much faster and less like torture.
Consider that a compliment.
Jer is like the ultimate nice guy and I am so glad he is! My dad is nice also, but he just doesn't know what to do around me.
Part of me thinks because I look so much like my mother it brings back painfull memories. He is still in love with my mom after being divorced for 15 years.
I kind of do sometimes.
