Friday!

Today I'm taking a mental health day. I'm working on my online class for a little bit, and then I'm headed to the bank and finally a brow waxing and a 90min massage.

After this crazy week with family and work I just needed a day. Our sitter is here so I get a break from everything, this will be the first time since Myles was born where I get a day for me. Honestly I'm looking forward to it.

This weekend we're doing some family stuff. Tonight we're doing a take-out fish fry (a Wisconsin tradition) with my BIL's family. S and I are picking up the food a bringing it to their house. We may also watch a movie, depending on how the kids are. I want to see 50/50 but given the situation I think that's a terrible idea.

Sat and Sun I'll be finishing up my work for class this week and snuggling with my little buddy!

Re: Friday!

  • Enjoy your you-day MO, you deserve it!

I was exhausted and sort of miserable yesterday when I got home, so I immediately crawled into bed and laid there for over an hour.  I still sort of felt like garbage, so sadly lasagna making got put off AGAIN.  Tonight, I swear.  I sat most of the night with my feet up and a heat pad on my back and felt sooooo much better by the time we finally went to bed.  We ended up staying up to watch both Grey's and Private Practice, and I oddly feel very rested today, despite the late bedtime.

Tonight is lasagna, and probably work around the house.  Tomorrow we're off to do a bunch of shopping around for carpet and maybe appliances.  I'd really love to get the carpet done in the next few weeks.

Sunday we're going to my mom's place for dinner in honour of my upcoming birthday, and then Monday is a provincial holiday!  For once Derek gets the day off and I don't, so I'm going to take a vacation day and help him work around the house.

  • Enjoy the day MO!  The massage sounds amazing.

I had a fairly useless appt with my GP this morning, but at least I got the ball rolling with the public health system here.  And it was nice to be able to sleep in a bit and then miss the rush hour commute.

My last easy day at work, before everybody comes back from holidays next week.  So I hope to get out early so I can go home and catch up on Greys and PP!  That's pretty much the plan for tonight.

Tomorrow we hope to go look at a couple of flats (I am not looking forward to the move), but otherwise no other plans for the weekend.

    Happy Friday all!

  • Happy Friday! MO, have fun with your day. :)

Nothing much going on over here. Had a great class last night, and finally hit on how to start my novel. I can only write 8-12 pages for the class, and was struggling with the first opening I had. Another one came to me and it feels right. I'm going to spend the weekend writing. I also need to do some editing for the website, write a review, draw up some style sheets for a new editing assignment we all have, and read my book club book.

I'll get to the gym as much as I can (long run on Sunday) and run all the errands we need to do. Glad it's a three-day weekend.

    Have a great day, everyone.

  • DH got home last night from being out of town for work , yay! So it'll be pizza & wine Friday :)

Also I am soooooo excited that my BFF is coming in tomorrow from Long Island! She is teacher so she has the next week off of work and I haven't seen her since September! I see, shopping, wine drinking and mani/pedi's in our future.

  • Enjoy your day, MO!

Last night was good. I got in a workout and enjoyed some Grey's. We had leftovers for dinner so it was a nice relaxed evening.

No long weekend for me. Tomorrow I'm going shopping with my MIL and SIL for baby stuff for my niece. We're gonna go out to lunch as well. It should be a great time. Otherwise, I don't really have too many plans outside of the typical housework and laundry. I'm so glad that it's Friday. Enjoy your weekend, ladies!

  • Last night was Grey's/PP, and it was so good! I'm glad that they are finally picking up the story lines a bit. It was slow moving there for a while.

I also went out to dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, which was nice. She's trying to get pregnant, so it's exciting. I feel bad for her, because she has RA, and she can't be on her meds while TTC. She's in a lot of pain. I think they'll give it a year and then give up on the idea. She doesn't want to be in pain for too long. I hope things work out for her.

Tonight will be just general lounging. DH and DS are both sick, so I've been trying to take care of them as best I can. Tomorrow I'm working from the crack of dawn all day. It'll be nice to be out of the house, but it's super boring and miserable to work with my boss on a weekend. She's already a big mess from some events going on, and this weekend is going to bring it all out all over again. I'd much rather be down one man than have to work with her. She's pretty useless.

  • Morning ladies.  Yesterday was a pretty good day.  I ran to Macy's yesterday after work to buy some shirts I had bought in a smaller size.  I'm not sure if anyone else had this problem with they first started shopping for maternity clothes, but I feel like I bought everything huge thinking I would grow into it, and now that I need the clothes, they are still huge.  So I will be returning the too big shirts this weekend.  Once I got home, there was laundry and packing to be done for Vegas this weekend.  I'm so excited to get out of town, and to meet Kari for brunch!

Today is going to be a busy day at work, but I'm headed out early to the airport.

MO, glad you decided to take some me time!

    Have a good weekend everyone.

  • Last night I was looking for a dress for my shower and didn't really see anything I loved.  Hopefully I can go next week to Michigan with one of my friends and find something there.

I work this whole weekend (4 7am shifts in a row) and I'm feeling exhausted already.  I might need to go get a hot chocolate. I'm hoping to hit the gym after workk but we'll see.  DH isn't home until after I'm done work tomorrow so I'm either all alone tonight or a friend might stop by for a few minutes.

    Have a good weekend.

  • MO - I'm so glad you get some time to yourself, it is well deserved lady!

Neptoon & Kari - have fun in Vegas and at your brunch!

Happy Friday! Last night was pretty low key, just a workout and some left overs for dinner. Today I'm working until noon then heading out to do some shopping. Saturday will be errands, grocery shopping, and our Valentines Day dinner. Sunday we don't have any plans, so it may end up being a lazy pajama day.

    Have a great weekend ladies!

  • Happy Friday ladies!

My mom is coming into town this weekend. I am so excite to see her. I'm mostly excited for her to see G. He has changed so much since Christmas. It's so hard to be so far from all of my family now that we have G man.

Thijs weekend is a lot of visiting with my momma and tomorrow going out with some friends to celebrate DH's birthday since we were at the cabin for his actual b-day.

    Have a great weekend ladies!

I'm so jealous of your get-together. Also, when I bought maternity clothes, I thought they were huge. Those last few weeks, you grow to obscene sizes. Most of my shirts wouldn't cover my bump in the end, and I was almost 6 weeks early. If I had gone all 40, i'm not sure I would've worn clothes.

  • MO - Everyone deserves a me day. Enjoy every minute of it.

Yesterday I hit the doctor's and I have my first ever sinus infection. Bonus - I have meds! I just have been so miserable, that I am hoping for another good nights sleep tonight.

Tomorrow we need to hit Sam's club to get diapers & wipes. I'm hoping we can also stop by a furniture store because I think we are getting a new living room set soon!

Sunday, we have our nephews birthday gathering at MIL's house.  It will depend on how I feel if I go.  I may just ship Ryan and the boys so I can get some alone time in the house to relax with my feet up.

    Have a great day/weekend everyone!

  • MO, so glad you have a day for yourself! Hope it is wonderful.

Yesterday we had a lovely dinner mtg. It went smoothly. Really good lasagna and amazing home-made ice-cream cake. I am getting so tired with one of my team members, he is seriously frustrating. He thinks he is being funny but really he is just being rude. I think I may have to sit down and talk with him sometime because I am so incredibly tired and most of his "jokes" are directed towards me.

Tonight we are going to the IL's for my FIL's birthday dinner. I am looking forward to it, my MIL makes fantastic deserts.

I have a girls night on Saturday and the rest of the weekend will most likely be filled with housework.

  • Last night was pretty low key. I started some invitations for a baby shower we are throwing. I really enjoy designing them and putting them together, I'm strange.

Tonight I have a cousing visiting from Texas so the fam is going over to my grandpa's to have dinner together. It's still hard for me to be there since my grandma died, it's still so new (she passed in November) and I still have a hard time with the fact that she never got to meet H.

I'm hoping to catch up on some rest this weekend as well. I'm a little irritated at J for his lack of help with H this week. He needs to step up his game and we've talked about it but apparently he just chose to ignore what I'm saying to him. I've found that the hardest thing about having a newborn (for me anyways) is the amount/quality of communcation with your SO. At least I feel like I can work on what the issue is... Geez, sorry for being a debbie downer.

Also as far as maternity stuff, I was the same as snoopy. Things looked giagantic and I was sure I would never fit in them. By the end of pregnancy those things were rather snug and fitted. Some of them didn't look like that til about the last 4-6 weeks. Just a heads up though.

^ Yep. You'll definitely grow into them very quickly. Hopefully you have some stuff in the right season... if the shirts are appropriate for spring, you might want to hold on to them a little longer...

    Have fun at your GTG!

I'm so happy it's a long weekend, but it'll be a busy one. Tomorrow we're going to a birthday party of my friend's daughter who will be 2. Sunday the ILs are coming over to see Darian. Monday I think my brother is coming over to see Darian.

I get a little depressed now sometimes, with the realization that people don't really visit to see V and me anymore, lol.

  • Good morning! I just missed my bus from work (boo), but I'm off for round two of blood work for the IPS tests. We wrapped up parent-teacher interviews this morning, and last night (woo! 13 hour school day!), so we get the afternoon off. I'm planning on walking down Bloor, window shopping for a new purse (there's a Michael Kors one I really, really want) and maybe popping in to the Gap there to see if they have a maternity section. I know, I know, I keep saying I'm going to buy stuff, but my jeans still button up (albeit they sit low) and I'm cheap.

This weekend, I'm going to tackle this Ikea hack I'm planning on doing, and getting the guest bedroom in order.

  • Happy Friday! MO - enjoy your day. We all need them sometimes and a happy mom means a happy baby.

I ended up leaving work yesterday with a terrible headache. I started the burgers for dinner and once DH got home he finished dinner and did the clean up after. Then he watched Olivia so I could lay down for a bit. After an hour I felt so much better. Once he left to his softball game I played with Olivia for a bit and put her to sleep. I was able to catch up on OTH and Ringer. Both shows are picking up too and wow!

Today I'm at work and I'm going to a yummy lunch with my co-workers. Tonight is up in the air. DH has double header softball games so he won't be home until after 9 which means I'm on my own for dinner. I also need to go to the mall to buy a gift for my BFF's birthday so I may just do that tonight.

Tomorrow we're filing our taxes in the afternoon and then we're having a date night. We're going to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and then watching a movie at home. Have a good weekend everyone!

  • Morning! or really, good afternoon to most of you!

Busy morning at the office. I really like that they are integrating me as part of the team so quickly.

This weekend is Vegas! And as you heard, a lovely brunch GTG with Neptoon!

  • Last I studied my butt off, just so I could not finish my test today.  I could cry.  On the bright side I found out that my loan will go through for school which means C and I will be able to make it through the semester.  I put in job apps last weekend with the state so fingers crossed that I have a job when I am done.  I have two tests and annotated bibligraphy do so I will be doing those things most of the weekend. However I am super pumped because C and I are going to burlesque show on Saturday and it is always really fun.

I hope that all of you have great weekend.

  • It has been a crazy couple days! We had our Winter Carnival today and it went off without a hitch...but it was almost cancelled yesterday because of major bullying issues (including rumors of weapons threats) this week. I'm so glad we went through with it though (and nit just because of the month I spent planning) because it ended the week off on a positive note for everyone. And now I am officially on vacation...though I'm working tomorrow. I head to Florida Monday and can't wait! Right now though I am going home to nap.

Today, I had lunch with one of my BFFs and her 3 month old.  I love a lunch with baby snuggles.  The weather here is unbelieveably nice today - near 70.
