I posted about this over on ML yesterday, but thought I'd tell you guys, too.
So, yeah. Dinner at his parents' house. I'm excited, but a little nervous. Historically, I've been really good with that age group -- I'm an only child, so the first people that I really learned to socialize with were my parents' friends. Growing up, I never had issues with boyfriend's parents -- it was usually pretty effortless. My former in-laws, however, really did not care for me, and that leaves me a little anxious. I'm also worried that the fact that I'm older and divorced might weird them out.
I really hope they like me, because I am absolutely bonkers about their son.
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

This is exciting news
How much of an age difference is there?
It took me over a year to meet SO's mom (she lives across the country). When I finally did, she liked me. But before that, she didn't have the best impression of me because of my sticky divorce and stuff...plus her son moved 800 miles to be with me, so she was a little concerned. This year, she sent me a GC for Xmas
I'm only 4 years older than him, so it's not a big deal at all. His last girlfriend was 8 years younger then him, though -- and it makes me feel funny that I'm 11 years older than her! Yeesh!
Carrots, I'm glad your SO's mom came around. I think a large part of why my EXH's family didn't like me was because I "kept" him on the east coast when they wanted him to move back to Colorado very badly. I stole their baby!
