I'm a lurker, but am looking for some advice. I'm currently 7 months pregnant and have gained quite a bit of weight (as I did with my last baby). I ran a marathon in May, and had lost quite a bit of weight and am researching different diets for post baby.
I've had success with WW in the past, and will probably do that again. The problem in the past is I lost weight, but didn't really eat the healthiest. I'd like to try the Mediterranean diet principles. My toddler has high blood pressure (not from being overweight, but he's had it since he as a small infant), and I'd like to introduce heart healthy habits early.
Does anyone follow this type of lifestyle? Is it difficult? What are your staples? Any advice is appreciated ![]()
Re: mediterranean diet success?
Hmm I've lived in the Mediterranean and it's pretty much just "eating healthy".
It's really not anything different from eating healthy in the U.S. I just think they have tons of markets (sometimes every block depending what neighberhood you're in), more fresh fish, and they use A LOT of olive oil--which I know some of the other Americans there hated that because they thought it was a bad fat (which I'm sure you know isn't true)
Here is the article on the very basics of the lifestyle. But really, it's not any different than the ways some people eat here.
