I wrote a draft of a campus-wide email about our staff exhibition yesterday and forwarded it to our staff council pres. to send out. I included an image to insert if she wanted to, and wrote below it:
"Caption can be: Staff Exhibition, 2000. The abstract painting is by alum and former staff member Ben Franklin [really] but we don't know who made the other work."
I intended for her to send the email with only the caption of "Staff Exhibition, 2000."
She sent it with both sentences. To the whole school.
I'm glad I don't have a job at a real office.
Re: Well, that will teach me
Was [really] included in the email, or was that for our benefit?
These things happen to you a lot, don't they?
Yes, the [really] was in there.
And yes, this happens a lot. If only I were in charge of everything, we would not have these problems, LOL.
My boss and I have been laughing over this all morning.
Ah, art school.
At least you didn't get in trouble or anything, right?
At one job there was an email (from a friend who also worked there) about a missing book at the company HQ's library so I replied "we have a library?!" but accidentally clicked "reply all"... so everyone got it. And my boss had a talk with me about being unprofessional. It was annoying... especially after a few friends joked with me that they had no idea there was a library either.
Oh, no. It's very laid back here. As soon as I saw it I told my boss and we both laughed and rolled our eyes.
My name isn't on the email anyway!
Exactly!
At my old job HR sent out an e-mail to one of their afternoon party things, and I wasn't interested in going alone so I was waiting to hear if my department girls were going to attend. Well one of my coirkers e-mailed me and asked if I was going and I replied along the lines of "Ehhh, not sure I want to go mingle. Guess it depends on if they have good food! You know they always hook it up! Lol." ....somehow it got sent as a reply to HR!
No one ever brought it up to me, but the ladies in HR were not terribly nice and I was 150% sure I was going to be in so much trouble.
GLW - I love that they kept the [really] in there, and ya'll got a good laugh out of it!
LOL! I'm cringing reading these!
