H bought new pants yesterday for his Best Buy job. So tonight while he's at work I'm catching up on laundry and I scooped up the old ones to wash. I assumed since he was at work, all this things had been transferred from old pockets to new pockets.
But when the load was done there were four pens at the bottom of the washer, with a tiny remote control that I think belongs to the store and it probably ruined and expensive, and his tiny black notebook. He writes down so much important contact info in that book - contacts for med school related things and contacts for med related jobs for his upcoming 7th month break. None of the info could be saved, the pages were washed clean and those that still had pen on them were unreadable.
He'll be home soon... I'm dreading telling him
And on Valentine's, too.
Re: <--- worst wife ever :(
Ohh no, I can understand how awful you feel.
How did he take it?

Oh that sucks - I hope he won't be too upset! I did that one time with some business cards H had in his shirt pocket...he has since learned to clean his pockets out at the end of the day. I grew up in a house where it wasn't my mom's responsibility to check your pockets. If there was money in there and it got washed, she kept it. I explained this to H when we got married and I started doing his laundry and after I washed those cards he realized that I was serious. We ladies have more to worry about than if you left sh!t in your pockets!
On the positive side - those ink pens didn't burst! You could have had a washer to replace if they did.

Ouch...I did that once with the hubby's digital camera. Incidentally we had just gotten into a laundry "discussion" because I left my chapstick in my pocket and it got washed & dried. He said that he never leaves anything in his pockets when they go into the laundry. I didn't throw it in his face verbally, but the look on my face when I handed him the camera out of the dryer pretty much said it all.
You are a MUCH better wife than I, because I would totally think it was my H's fault for leaving his crap in his pants! I'm glad he took it well!
