Model has been from a 00 to a 16
and everything in between. What do you think? What size you think she looks best at?
Just a general discussion here.
Her name is Crystal Renn. She wrote a biography in 2009 about being anorexic (Hungry). She is currently in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

Re: Model has been from a 00 to a 16
I've always felt like curvacious women were more attractive in my eyes. This could be me trying to see myself as beautiful as well so take that into consideration.
The "after" is prettier to my eyeballs.
Your asking for our opinion on what size she looks best? How about the size where she's healthy and happy? She yo-yo'd that much because of all the pressure thrown at her in the modeling industry. I'm sure people's "opinion" of her had a little something to do with those drastic changes in her weight. I'm sick of hearing people picking women apart over their weight. It's a horrible yet acceptable in today's world.
I feel like her beauty is not contingent on her size.
She looks great in both pictures. She doesn't look like she's a size 16 in the second picture.
ETA: By both I mean the first pic posted and last pic posted.
Personally, she looks happy and healthy in the Swimsuit Edition. From what I read, she's about a size 8/10 (keep in mind this is in Designer's sizes, which is probably a size 4 for mainstream sizes).
I find an issue with her losing so much and gaining so much. That cannot be healthy.
This, I think healthy is beautiful. I really don't like too much of the 'size' argument on either side because both extremes promote being happy and satisfied with unhealthy behavior and weights.
This model is a beautiful woman whether she's a size 0, or a size 16, but what's healthiest for her?
She was anorexic. She battled her eating disorder and became one of the most famous plus sized models.
She just recently lost weight and is a smaller size.
Yeah, I'm with Near_Miss on this.
I feel like the aim of this post is probably to get others to respond that the heavier weight is more attractive. It's completely subjective.
I'm also tired of hearing people say bigger and curvacious is always better. It completely depends on the person. There are women who are naturally small and healthy also. Are they supposed to feel bad about themselves or less sexy because they don't have curves? Size and health vary depending on the individual's height, body frame, how they carry weight, etc. One person can be a size 0 and still be healthy and beautiful, while someone else may be a size 14 and be healthy and beautiful also.
I think she looks good either way. More high fashion before and more catalogue after.
I'm sorry that I miscommunicated. What my intent was simply a discussion.
And obviously, I agree that a size means nothing. Health is everything
Agreed. I know someone who is on board with the "Big is beautiful" motto and sometimes I get really annoyed. Just because you're small doesn't mean your healthy, and being big isn't healthy either.
Oh and can I just mention I don't like how my boss's wife says "he looks good!" when I know for a fact he eats pizza (or just the breadsticks) almost everyday for lunch, with a coke. And every night he has Haagen Dazs vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate magic shell. He may be thin... but he's definitely not healthy.
I agree with the thinking that she's most beautiful where she's happy, I think she's a gorgeous woman regardless. I do think her story is interesting, and I'm glad she seems to have gotten to a good place.
Societal pressures are real, but they're on both sides of the spectrum. I don't think anybody should feel bad about their body, at any weight/size, as long as they're comfortable in their own skin. I have friends who are -strictly- "big is beautiful!!!" and "Real women have CURVES!". No, real women come in all shapes and sizes. I have curvy hips, but I'm still only a size 2/4... and I'm perfectly happy with the way I look. Yet somehow my old coworkers who were a bigger size always made me feel crummy about my body. I think as a society we need to accept that the size of your jeans is not necessarily a factor to health OR happiness, and realize that beauty is more than inches.
...that got ridiculous long. But true story! And I do love her pictures, I think she's very pretty.
