best use of 30 minutes in the gym?
sorry if this has been posted a million times...
i am going to start working out before work, and i will be limited to 30 minutes. i don't want to get in there and end up doing something ineffective, so what do you think would be the best use of that time? any help would be appreciated.
Re: best use of 30 minutes in the gym?
Is there an area where you could do circuits?
1 min jumping jacks, then 20 pushups, followed by high knees then something with dumbells, etc etc?
If you run you can do intervals on the treadmill, that's what I did this morning. I only had 30 minutes as well.
I walk briskly for like 3 minutes to warm up, then speed up to a comfortable run for about 2 mins, then I sprint all out for around 45 seconds then go back down to my comfortable run pace and repeat.
I wouldn't recommend doing this everyday, but once a week or so and it's a great workout. The other days you could do a circuit like pp mentioned.
Thank you for posting this! I got to the gym on my lunch hr also & so that boils down to about 40-45min of time physically in the gym. I also run 3x a week....except for the last couple weeks, my gym/running routine has been thrown in the crapper-(long story).....but starting Monday my schedule should be back to normal & Im actually looking forward to getting back into my routine.
I've always wondered if I was making the most of the time that I had there...then again, I also just figured something was better than nothing!
Im curious to read what other responses are!
