Re: UO Thursday
I will! It may be a couple of hours before I can come back to play though. I know we have people on both sides of the abortion debate here, but I was wondering what you guys thought about these ads airing on tv.
I find them awfully inflammatory and I'd be pretty upset if I had to explain this nonsense to my kiddo. So my question is probably more for pro-life folks: are you ok with your kids seeing these ads on tv?

Do they actually show that on tv? I wouldn't say that I am a pro-lifer (I'm a fence straddler) but I wouldn't want M seeing stuff like that. We generally don't have the tv on channels that aren't kid appropriate when she is around. I will also say I don't think that kind of material is very appropriate for tv at all.
I totally did not have a problem with Chris Brown performing at the Grammy's. His music is awesome, he is a great performer, and he deserved to be there. In fact, if we want to start judging people for their personal lives....welllllll...I saw about 30 people in the audience that didn't deserve to be there. Let's start with Blake Sheldon and Miranda Lambert - who had an affair while Blake was still married to his first wife. (And I chose them specifically because Miranda got on her high horse about Chris performing. And also? She needs a new stylist - that dress was a crime in itself).
I am pro life and that is not okay period.
Pro-life or pro-choice... no. No, no, no. Not okay.

I believe this was on channel 4 last night.
SO many reasons I did not support Chris Brown performing at this year's Grammys. Most of the reasons stem from the fact of his non-apology apology. I don't care how much talent he has:
http://articles.cnn.com/2012-02-14/living/living_chris-brown-response-tweets_1_tweets-domestic-violence-joke/2?_s=PM:LIVING
I also don't think he has accurately addressed the many issues that he has. Until he is held accountable and opens up for some serious dialogue, areas of his talent vs. demons will continue to fester.
Not okay, regardless of position on abortion. Also, I am over this "Obama against religion" diatribe too.
I keep wanting to make some comment on FB about the personhood bill in OK and the totally asinine birth control hearings in DC, but I'm too chickenshiit today. I'm still job-searching and trying to keep my stuff neutral and clean.
As far as Chris Brown goes, I actually enjoy some of his latest songs and think he's made a rather remarkable comeback since 2009. And I agree with previous posters that there are a lot of other celebrities out there who have done some pretty shameless things, yet they are the first to point a finger. I may not like Chris Brown as a person, but that won't make me dislike his songs. If it's good music, so be it. That being said, I thought his performance at the Grammys was surprisingly boring. He's an awesome dancer and I felt like that number spoke more to his ability to climb and jump around on stairs than do any smooth moves.
I forgot.. I had a really lame UO. I can't stand black tennis shoes. Lame, right? There's a girl who always shows up to tennis courts wearing black tennis shoes, black socks, black skirt and black racer-back tank top. Black against pale skin in this situation is not pretty. Nor or racerback tank tops when you don't have a lean back at all. I suppose she at least matches, but it's just not a good look, or flattering.
And what's up with women who wear their hair down while they are working out? I sweat profusely just thinking about working out, but some of these women show up with their long hair 'do and by the end of the night it's like a stringy moppy mess. I suppose it might be their way of trying to appear attractive, but when I'm working out, I don't know... I focus on exercise and not trying to find a date.
I see women primping in the locker room at the gym in full makeup, jewelry, cotton pants and tshirts, without a drop of sweat and wonder how they could possibly have done anything whatsoever. Meanwhile, I'm a disgusting mess dripping with sweat and smelling my own BO.
OMG. There is this girl at my gym that always rolls in wearing full blown make up, blown out hair, etc etc. She has these massive lip injections and huge new boobs. Everytime I see her I wonder what she does for a living because she is at the gym ALL THE TIME and I can't imagine going into a workplace looking like that.
With that being said, I usually wear my hair down when I am with my trainer. Mostly because he is hawt and I look better with my hair down. So ha.
Adultery and physical abuse are not comparable in my book. I?ve read that Miranda?s parents sheltered abused women and children when she was growing up (which is where a lot of her song ideas come from). I?m sure that makes her much more passionate about the subject than the average Joe.
