swim diaper

Can anyone recommend a good swim diaper?  I need to get one for lessons next month!!!

Re: swim diaper

  • Cloth or paper? I hear you can get cheap ones at places like WalMart

DD is usually in one from Imse Vimse, Monkey Snuggles, or an unstuffed pocket diaper

hmmm....unstuffed pocket....I have plenty of pockets.  We are taking a swim class, and the instructor said to make sure we have a non-disposable  swim diaper.  I wonder if I can just use one of my pockets.

  • You can use any unstuffed pocket. But the CD board always says that you can't add that pocket back in to your regular rotation, so choose one you're not attached to. I guess the chlorine from a pool can mess with it.
  • Ditto LadyE. We use a permastained diaper that I'll never put back into rotation

I have a medium (I think) Imse Vimse swim diaper if you want it, and if you think it will fit

  • We used the iplay swim diapers last year and had good success with it.  Here's a link to it.

Thanks so much for the advice guys, and Dr. L thanks for the offer!  I think I will just use one of my unstuffed pockets!  I have so many!  You guys are awesome.

  • DS had a great one last summer, but it is packed away. They slid on and off like regular underwear though, which was kind of a pain when wet.

I'm going to go to the CD store in May before beach season is in full swing and check out what she has. I think I heard her reference one called Apple Bottom? or something like that for swim dipes.

We also used the Huggies a few times last summer. They were fine, but really hard to get over his thighs. I liked how they just ripped off after using them though.

For the swim lessons we are taking we have to use a non disposable.  I wish we had a cloth diaper store around here.  I think the closest one is in Sommerville.
