Fun ways to tell your work you are pregnant!!?!

I am 13 weeks pregnant and am going to tell my work that I am pregnant on Monday.  I am bringing food and wanted to make a fun note to put in the lounge(I'm a teacher).  Anyone have any creative ideas???

  • With DS, DH and I made pink and blue cupcakes for his co-workers. They didn't get it for the most part, but I thought it was fun. He works with mostly men, so I think they were just excited for food :)

  • This won't help, but it reminded me of my old job - At Central College, it is a tradition to bring in homemade chocolate chip cookies to 'announce' your pregnancy - a coworker didn't know about this tradition and brought in her chocolate chip cookies one day and had a lot of explaining to do. (I didn't know the tradition until then either, and I had already announced my pregnancy. I didn't do anything fun tho.)

I didn't know you worked there. I graduated from Central. :)

The chocolate chip cookie thing is a Pella wide thing. I made that mistake when I worked for Pella Windows in College. Imagine the rumor mill.  lol! Especially in such a small town where everyone knew my business.

  • What about a crossword puzzle or word search with a baby theme? Google for pre-made or go here to create your own. Maybe leave some pink and blue colored pencils with the puzzles.

Make a jigsaw puzzle in pink and blue or a neutral (green/yellow) saying "tdibble is pregnant!" Leave it on the lounge table in pieces.

Do you have a cardigan or some other wrap that could stay buttoned/zipped/tied? If so, you could design a t-shirt with your announcement on it and just let it show while you were in the lounge/before the kids get there. (Unless, of course, the kids are going to know on Monday too and then see if you can find something that will also meet dress code.)

Bring in candy like Baby Ruths, Sour Patch Kids, Sugar Babies - I'll think of more if you want to go this route. Leave a note with something about not being able to get babies out of your head. Ok, something much more creative than that... Maybe something like guess the theme?

And I love the idea of blue and pink cupcakes.

  • Oh, on that link I included, there is a hidden message word search too. That might be fun!
  • Ok, I have one more nerdy one if you are a math or lower elementary school teacher. Leave a note with your yummy treats asking, "When does 1+1=3?" See how long it takes them to do the math.
  • Thanks for all the ideas!!
