Paycheck question - WWYD?

So DH's boss met with him today and told him the hours on his paycheck had been messed up so DH has to wait until the next check run to get his check (he works for a small company and they do not do direct deposit). The next check run is 2/29. Is that fair? The company screwed up, so why should DH have to wait and not get paid for another 2 weeks?

I feel like telling him he demand his paycheck anyway. We won't die if we have to wait but I feel like that's just totally wrong. What do you think?

they should be able to issue him a check outside of their normal payment schedule. I think that they need to fix it right away - it affects bills etc! I mean, even if you have enough to cover etc., they shouldn't expect that.

Ditto this. He should definitely demand a check be cut right away, because it's not fair and you have bills to pay!

Besides bills - they are in effect earning interest on his money while you are not. They should be able to cut him a check outside the normal schedule like pp mentions.

This has happened to DH before, and they cut him a check right away to correct the issue. They shouldn't withhold his pay until the 29th because of mistake they made.

It's happened to me a few times too, my company gives me a choice, they will issue a check the next day or I can wait until the next pay day. They don't like issuing the next day, but most of the time we are not just talking about a few hundred dollars. So I agree - your H should be issued a check.

Thanks ladies! I convinced DH to call today and they tried to back out (apparently the accountant is the only one who knows how to use the check software and she's only in every two weeks?) but he convinced them it wasn't fair. His boss (also the owner) said he'd call the accountant back in and have his check on Tuesday. Cool.
