phone poll

Re: phone poll

  • We do, but I don't know the number and it doesn't ring.

We call out on it and we need it for the internet or something.  Now that I have 2000 min a month I may use it less.

  • It's part of my bundle with Sky.  And for 5 pounds a month I get unlimited calling to the states.   I pretty much only use my phone to call OUT, I don't think anybody actually has that number (and I never remember it, so I just give out my mobile).

  • It's part of my bundle package.  I would pay $30 more a month if I didn't have a land line.

  • Yes, we do, but only because we need it in our area for broadband internet to work. Rumor has it that fiber *might* be coming soon.
  • I voted kinda sorta, it came with our bundle. But we don't know the number, nor do we have an actual phone hooked up to it. We use cell phones 100% of the time.

Very interesting.  Do you know the plan?  I might have to get this as well.

  • Kinda bc in our area you have to have a phone line to get Internet.  So like a de facto mandatory bundle.  We don't actually have a local phone plugged in though.

It's an add-on to our normal bundle.

It's under "Sky Talk Unlimited."  It's unlimited calling to landlines in 20 countries including the US, Canada, and most of continental Europe, an also includes call us US and Canada mobile numbers.

  • We're back to no landline in Paris because it is ridiculously complicated to get a phone installed here as a renter (and I have given up the process), BUT in NY, we got one again after DD was born after years and years with only cells. We had a couple of experiences where babysitters or nannies would forget their cell and we realized it was a good idea to always have a phone available in case of emergency.

  • We have a land line that is included in our internet/tv/phone bundle. We use it quite often to make calls as they are free to over 100 countries and to mobile phones in France.
  • Like many of the PP we have to have it for our internet service. We do sometimes use it though and it is where most people actually ring us. We mostly use our mobile phones for texting.

  • This was a deal killer for me.  We had to have a landline phone.  Having been in NOLA post-Katrina when cell phones were more often than not useless, either because the towers were not operable, or because the network was flooded, and needing to make emergency calls to police and fire departments, I had to have a landline, no exceptions.  I cannot be in a position where I have no way to contact authorities in the event of an emergency.

We had this, too.  It was great.

We have a land line here just because we have to with our alarm system.  I barely ever use it though.

  • We do have a landline, but I don't know the number and we don't use it. (It's issued by QF).

I do have 25 windows in my house though.

And windows are related to this how?
