Hi. I'm at work. It's cold and rainy and dreary and I want to be in bed. We have all of three students here and I'm bored.
So, talk to me, give me advice, etc.
You know that job I applied for back in August? Phone interview and then second in-person interview in Sept? Then no response to a follow-up I sent in October. Job re-posted after Christmas, I sent another follow-up then. I finally heard back yesterday. They want me to come in for another interview because the interview panel is different this time around.
I have a million mixed feelings about this. I pretty much wrote this whole endeavor off about a month ago. I even have a lunch planned with a recruiter friend on Monday to discuss career change options. Like, I had totally started planning my life not working for this place.
Anyway, I scheduled the interview for next Friday.

We put a deposit down on that apartment with the crazy bathroom today. And guess what crazy bathroom has that we didn't notice before? HEATED FLOORS.

Yep, same place. And this is for a PT position. The recruiter is one of my best friends, so I'll definitely still have lunch with her. I'm just so freaking torn. I think a big reason I'm hesitant is the PT thing. I know they hire almost exclusively from within for the FT positions, but I have no idea how long that would take. I just got a raise at my current job and I was planning on cutting back at my second job in March. I'm sick of the two job thing and if I got this job, it would have to continue indefenitely. And I'd be broke. With no health insurance. These were all things I was willing to deal with to get on there before, but now I'm really questioning it.
Heated floors are awesome. That bathroom is kickass. Is the rest of the place as nice?

The rest of the place is ok, the kitchen is sort of sucky, but we'll deal. It's only about .5 miles from out current place,so thats good. We love our neighborhood and didnt really want to leave. We looked at the bathroom again and I was like "what is this keypad in the bathroom for OHMYGODHEATEDFLOORS."

And now I'm trying to compose an email to the OK Governor and my state Rep about the motherfvvcking personhood bill that passed the state Senate on Thursday.
I love heated floors and heated car seats--a necessity for leather seats even in freaking SC.
My feeling is that every interview is a good interview. Try to concentrate on the interview and don't worry about having to make hard decisions until there are hard decisions to make. I know that is easier said than done. Good luck!
Oh, good call. I wrote to Randy effing Terrill which I'm amy100% sure is a lost cause, but I didn't think about contacting the gubner. There's a march / protest on March 1st. I am considering taking off work and going, but I probably won't.
I will probably go on March 1, Wendy. There is also one being planned on Feb 28. I think they should combine and have one big group.
I've also considered emailing/texting that one Rep I kinda know, but he's not my Rep, so I don't know if I should.
ETA: I just realized how dumb that sounds. Of course I'm going to text him.
