It kills me to give up dairy but it looks like I have to for my son who seems to have a dairy allergy. We are still in the phasing it out/reintroducing it slowly phase, but I'm looking for recipes that have no dairy. My main issue is pasta (my fave) bc almost all pasta recipes have dairy in them with the exception of just pasta with marinara. If you have any recipes or blogs I'd love links.
Also, if anyone here doesn't eat dairy, any non-dairy substitutes you enjoy for butter/milk/cheese/etc. would be great. I'm so sad for both my son and myself LOL!
Re: Non-Dairy recipes
I've subsituted almond milk in lots of stuff here lately (even homemade waffles!) with pretty good success. And I've found (although pricey) lots of goat milk cheeses that I love, not just chevre. I found a goat-milk pecorino romano that I've been using in lots of things (especially pasta) in place of parmesan.
I'm still pretty new to the non-dairy game, so that's all I've got so far. Sorry you've joined the non-dairy camp
We really don't eat a lot of dairy.

I would look around for vegan recipes and add meat back in as needed!

I?m so sorry you are having to give up dairy
Alisa Cooks (http://www.alisacooks.com/) is a great dairy free blog. She also runs a website called godairyfree.org that is a great resource on all things dairy free.
Boo
I don't think any of my crockpot recipes have dairy - http://iwasborntocook.blogspot.com/search/label/crockpot
omit the cheese in some of these -
Dad's Sicilian Summer Pasta
Melissa's Bolognese Sauce
Pasta e Fagioli
Pasta with Chicken Sausage & Artichoke Hearts
Ravioli with Broccoli Rabe & Pancetta
Lentils with Pasta
I have a ton of non-pasta dishes that don't have dairy.

Daiya is a really good vegan cheese.
Earth's Balance is a vegan butter substitute that tastes like margarine.
Tofu is a great substitute for ricotta in most recipes. I make lasagna using a blend of tofu, mozzarella soy cheese (shredded), and soy Parmesan (galaxy foods brand). It comes out really good.
I also regularly cook with almond milk, soy creamer, and coconut products.
I have a few non-dairy pasta recipes:
Sicilian Eggplant Sauce
Chicken Cacciatore
Also, Chunky Sloppy Joes on Garlic Toast and a lot of my soups and stews have no dairy.
I have a son that we keep dairy free and I use alisa cooks for a lot of things! Almond milk is a great sub for just plain milk if you ever have a craving for it
I'm sorry!
For times when you just want a glass of milk, I love the Silk dark chocolate almond milk. The chocolate counteracts the different aftertaste of the almond. I still haven't gotten to a point where I would just sit down and drink a glass of plain (or vanilla) almond milk.
I make a lot of pasta without milk/cream, although I don't often blog about it -- I use a lot of tomato-based sauces with lots of vegetables or just do things like onion, garlic, cherry tomatoes, spinach in olive oil.
