If you live in KY you love basketball. Period. And this has been the most amazon basketball year I've ever experienced. Our high school team has been playing great. The UK Wildcats are on top. Again.
. But my Murray State guys have just been the biggest blessing and most exciting thing to ever happen to this part of the world ever. I'm sitting in Murray in our local (and just about only) bar waiting to head to the CFSB Center for the nationally televised Bracket Buster game versus St. Ma's. Dickie V. is going to be here. He just landed at the airport. We're going to be on ESPN. We're ranked. We've been ranked for a looooooong time. It's senior night. If the boys win, this senior class will be the winningest class in MSU history.
I wish you could feel the excitement around town right now. It's amazing. And it's peobable that this will never happen again. Even if you don't watch basketball or sports at all, I'd love it if you'd tune into ESPN in a little over 2 hours and just send good thoughts to my Racers. It's not often that a super small town (smaller than the population of the college) gets the opportunity to be in such a stage as this. It's the best. I love basketball.

I feel your excitement! I remember back in 2008 watching the final four and then Mario's Miracle in the championship game. It gives you goose bumps.
I didn't get to watch the Murray game, but I just watched the highlights on ESPN. Glad they won!

Dickie V was dancing!!! And with about 3 minutes left in the game, someone who was watching the game on ESPN texted H and said 'DICKIE V'S GOING TO EAT AT TOM'S GRILLE AFTER THE GAME!' So H jumped up, ran out of the arena and went and got a table for us. And he came in right after we got there and left as we were leaving. I held the door for him as he was leaving!
It was a super exciting day. Even if you're not a basketball or sports fan, we've been a great story to follow. Hopefully this train will keep rolling!
I've been pulling for your team too! I said something about Murray State the other day, and Brett couldn't believe I knew anything about them. I explained that one of the nesties was a huge fan and he said that made more sense
Our Mizzou Tigers are having a pretty great season too- I don't love basketball half as much as I love football, but it has been a fun season! I'm excited for the tournament to get started.
I generally root for Mizzou because they're the same style team as Murray. Small, fiesty, defensive.... a game between the two would just be ridiculous! I'm excited you're coming to the SEC next year, too! Sorry for all the beat downs you'll receive from Kentucky in the future. :P
