Mardi Gras - King Cake recipe?
So, we've been invited to a Mardi Gras potluck and I've been asked if I'd bring a King Cake, something I've never made. Does anyone have a recipe they've tried? I'm not the best with yeast doughs, so I'm hesitant to just pick a random recipe online. Thanks!
Re: Mardi Gras - King Cake recipe?
A friend of mine made this one last Friday for the pre-parade party we hosted, and it was crazy tasty. I haven't made one yet myself, but I thought this was better than a lot of the store-bought versions down here. Good luck!

I know King Arthur Flour has a recipe, but I'm guessing Mollie's is more authentic.
Here's the KAF one for mini King Cakes anyhow (even if it's just for the photos):

If you google the King Cake on their site, they have a recipe (without photos) for the full-size version...
Here's a recipe for one from Saveur:

Let us know how it turns out, by the way!
Thanks for the help, ladies! I'm going to give this one a try: http://www.browneyedbaker.com/2011/03/08/traditional-mardi-gras-king-cake/
Hopefully it all works out - I've never actually had king cake before, so this should be interesting.
