I guess I figured out my problem!

I've posted many times about my trouble breaking my plateau. I felt like I tried everything, eating less, eating more, working out harder, longer, adding strength training. It was frustrating. This week I decided to give up sugar, it's only been a few days and I haven't gotten on the scale (too soon) but I already notice a difference...in the way of realizing how mucch sugar I was eating! Between yogurt, packaged foods, protein bars...I'm sure that was the issue. Cutting out sugar has been the hardest I've ever had to do dietwise but I think in the long run I'm going to be happy I did it.

That being said...anyone have some good snack suggestions? I feel like I need some variety and I don't really know what to add.

  • Almonds, plain cheerios (minimal amount of sugar), veggies with hummus or guac, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, string cheese, cottage cheese with celery for dipping, peanut butter on crackers (again, minimal sugar), and microwave popcorn (unbuttered, of course)

This is off the top of my head.  If you're cutting out only refined sugar, there's also blueberries, which make ridiculously awesome snack.

  • Thank you! I never would have thought of some of these :^)
