Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout?
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts?
Re: The weekend (long) workout post
What was your (long) workout this weekend? Yesterday I did a "long" run of 7 miles. Longest run I've done since Septemeber!
What was the weather like and what did you wear? It was about 45, windy, mostly cloudy with some sun peaking out! I wore capris, tank, light jacket on top, which I took off about a mile in. A headband to cover my ears.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? I give it a a 2.5. I went out too fast, I'm trying to workout based on my HR. So the end of my run was not pretty. I was trying to keep my HR low, but at that target I was barely moving. It was frustrating. I'll get it eventually!
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? I saw the sun!!!
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? Not that I can think of right now!

What was the weather like and what did you wear? Sat.: 55. I wore a long sleeve base layer, arm warmers, short sleeve jersey, shorts, and knee warmers.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? 4 It was a fun ride and I got to ride with an old friend.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Talking to my old friend.

What was your (long) workout this weekend? 7 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Pretty nice! About 40 when I started, overcast with the sun coming out every once in a while. I wore Athleta Relay capris, a short sleeve t, lightweight long sleeve half zip, lululemon headband, Feetures socks, Brooks Glycerin 8's.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? 4. I went slower than usual but I felt like I needed to take it easy today.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Lots of cats were out and about! Plus people with their dogs. A guy was walking a super cute German Shepherd puppy.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? Nothing very interesting. Except that I use the same breathing techniques during a run that I use during yoga.

What was your (long) workout this weekend?
13.5 miles @ 7:24 pace. I still have my second long workout tomorrow (biking).
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
It was like 45, I wore shorts/tank top and arm warmers. It was also a little windy.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do?
4. You really make a 5 sound too awesome for any workout that I do, lol
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout?
Nope. It was a pretty standard run, bummer.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts?
Probably but I cant remember.
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 1:45 run with my Whitney Houston catalog, just over 11 mi for me.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? mid 30's cloudy with a little wind. wore tights, long sleeve shirt, jacket, gloves. this proved to be too many clothes.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? I'll give myself a 4. I was sort of on the slower side and I felt like crap due to a small hangover (whoopsies!) and a shitty race yesterday, but I got it done.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? I didn't see many people out on the Mt Vernon trail which was unusual. I did see a rollerblader though. haven't see one of those for awhile. also, not going to lie, got a little teary when 'one moment and time' played. partially because my legs hurt and I wanted to be done running though.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? I don't think I've had any big personal revelations while running or anything. what I learn during a run is usually running related.
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 10 miles
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Upper 30's, sunny, and windy. Wore tights, long sleeve shirt, jacket, gloves and ear warmers. A mile in I ditched the gloves and earwarmers, 3 miles in I ditched the jacket, and by 7 miles in I had rolled the tights up under my knees. I was SO hot.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? Ehh a 3 I guess. My foot was really bothering me and I kept having to stop to rest it. I was also way too warm.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? not really - I just couldn't believe how many people were out on the trial today.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? I'm a lot stronger than I normally let myself believe.
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 8 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Upper 40's, and windy. Wore capris, short sleeve wicking shirt and jacket.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? Ah, I think it was close to a 4. We slowed down at the end, but all things considered, the 8 miles flew by.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Almost got hit by a car. We were running in the am when it was still dark and a car took a corner super fast and we were in the crosswalk. I froze like a deer in headlights, my friend pushed me out of the way. We were both wearing reflective clothes and were in the crosswalk at a light. He should've been able to see us just fine...
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? I can have an ongoing non-sequitor conversation with myself for 2 hours without a problem. Crazy much? :-)
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 8mi run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? clear, low-mid 40s, and a slight breeze. I wore Adidas Supernova capris, my Sugoi zipdown jacket (too hot, should have worn a short sleeve), bondi band and sunglasses.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? About a 4.5 overall. I am having this crazy zenlike experience with my longer distances lately, because I've been running further yet my pace is dropping. 1 mile longer this weekend and I ran an average of 17 seconds/mi FASTER than last week, comfortably. Whoa!
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Just about every cardinal within 10 miles. And a bunch of people on the route.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? I'd make an awesome DJ. I normally don't run with music when I'm outdoors but I generally have a song running through my head. Sometimes I'll lay a beat track behind it and fade into other songs. Oh yeah. What was your (long) workout this weekend? 13.1 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Mid 40s and sunny. Wore crops, SS tech tee, light jacket (took it off a few miles in), Bondi Band, and sunglasses.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? 3.5. I was really tired from moving this week. But I got to see a new area and ran with a friend.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Rock Creek Park and the Potomac River. Daffodils blooming. Seriously? It's February.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? So many things. Everything I learned about life, I learned from long distance running. Motivation and dedication are the two things that first come to mind.Running on the Rhode
I hate you very much
Pretty good weekend. Ran a total of 11 miles Saturday (10k race with 2 mi warm-up, 3 mile cool-down), and did an hour long run today. Luckily the heavy rain held off until the last 10 minutes.
Also did a nice deep clean of the house with the DH's help this afternoon. I feel most accomplished about that!
What was the weather like and what did you wear? it was mid-30s, overcast, no wind
eta: oops! I wore capris and a long sleeve tech with an ear warmer
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? 3.5-ish. I was on a retreat this weekend, so I didn't eat well and slept horribly, but still had to do it. Breathing-wise I was fine, but my goodness, my legs were heavy.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Not really...there were a LOT of people out and I usually don't see many people.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? I am learning how to focus more and I think that focus is carrying over into my life. I find I'm able to attack my job with more strength and drive.
Yes,I'm smiling...I'm a marathoner!

What was your (long) workout this weekend? - 7 miler yesterday
What was the weather like and what did you wear? - pretty nice, sunny and in the high 40s I think. It was a bit windy though, so that sucked
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? - I'd say 3. Wasn't horrible, wasn't fantastic. I'm just glad I actually got out and did it, I haven't done a longer run in 3 weeks.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? - nope
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? - I guess I discovered at one point that I can still keep going even though I think I'm going to die and want to give up
What was your (long) workout this weekend? saturday I ran 18 miles!!
What was the weather like and what did you wear? it was cold and very windy!! I wear UA tights, smart wool socks, brooks adrenaline shoes, gloves, Nike thermal dry fit 1/4 zip, short sleeve compression top, Nike headband/ear warmer
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being you should have stayed in bed and 5 being you want your workout recapped on SportsCenter, how did you do? 4
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Just 1 deer. I also peed in 2 public places; the woods next to a church and behind an electrical box. I also found someones wallet. one of my running friends turned it into the police station after our run.
Bonus question: Have you ever discovered anything about yourself during one of your long workouts? recently I discovered how envious I am of those being able to run fast and do speed work. I know it's only short term though. Come June I can begin getting back to my old running self.
