Jack and I have been home from the hospital for almost a week now. Adjusting to a newborn and a toddler is no joke! G was a holy terror for the first two days (and, as a result, I was a crying guilty mess), compounded by the craziness of OOT family in our tiny condo for our first weekend home. Since then, he has been getting more gentle and tolerant each day.
My c/s recovery has been a dream! I cannot believe the difference from my experience with G to this. By my second day at home I have felt pretty much back to myself, although I'm limiting myself because I know better that to go overboard. Still, a week and half post-partum and I don't even need tylenol.
E is home for one more week then, my mom is coming in the week after to help with a little more adjutment time before I fly solo with the boys.
And, of course, and AW photo of my gorgeous boys in my updated siggy ![]()
Re: Home and adjusting...
glad your recovery is going well! i love all the pics of the 2 boys together and G being the loving big brother. my 2 will be the same age difference so i was curious to hear how G was handling everything.
Honestly, I think he's doing as well as can be expected for his age. He's definitely a Mama's boy so, the hardest thing is teaching him that he needs to wait for my attention if I am feeding Jack. He's learning just to climb up next to me on the couch and snuggle into to my side, bring me a book to read him, etc.
I predict that I will be wearing Jack in the Moby or Ergo a LOT once I am on my own with them just to have my hands free for George.

This exactly.......I'm so nervous about how k is going to react. She is such a mama's girl. I am actually kinda glad that you mentioned feeling guilty. I feel the same way sometimes and I thought I was crazy. Honestly that was part of the reason I wanted to wait a bit before having another baby because I felt guilty that k would have to share my attention.
Your boys are beautiful. I am so glad to hear that G is starting to adjust...it will take time but I am sure soon he will be the most protective and loving brother.
I am glad your recovery is going well too! Just continue to take it easy.
Glad to hear your recovery is going well and that G is adjusting to his new little brother!
Loving all the pics!!!!
So glad to hear everything is well! Your boys are too precious!
LOVE that siggy pic! so sweet!
question about your c-section recovery (if u dont mind)- did you labor first with G? do you think that's maybe why you feel better? or is it just a better recovery in general? i hope you dont mind my nosiness. im still trying to work out with my doc if i'm going to try for the vbac or do the scheduled c, that is, if they'll allow it. so i'm curious what other peoples experiences are.
Awww...I love that he's trying to help you though.
I've been told by a few friends that the Ergobaby carrier is a must have when you have a toddler and a newborn. I totally intend on getting one!

What a great picture. I was the same way with my c-section #2. I think it is also because we know what to expect. Glad G is adjusting well, my J only had a hard time when I was feeding a bottle, so I had to prop a lot. It will take a few weeks and I promise it will get easier and you will get in a groove, especially since you're ms. organized. Now that C is moving across the floor and a squealer, J goes into the other room and shuts the door, or tries to plug her with a bottle or paci. The sibling interaction purely will melt your heart.
Congrats again momma!
This exactly! Congrats again!
