sarack, the good sam.

so today, on the way home from work, i was driving on a busy street, right off 405, and a little dog was RUNNING, like bookin it down the road. he was a little 3.5-4lb yorkie and all alone.. no houses around. the sidewalk he was on was about to end so i flipped a u-y (how do you spell that word?? LOL! i've never spelled it out!) anyway, i flipped around, and got the dog in my car. he had 2 tags, one for the akc so i called them.. the number on his collar didn't have ANY information... i couldn't believe it. it was OBVIOUSLY not neutered so probably worth a LOT of money!

anyway, he had the same kind of rabies tag my babyboydog has so i called banfield. thank GOODNESS they were open and able to track him down. i met his owner, who was hysterically crying, and gave her baby back to her. she gave me $50! I told her that it isn't necessary and she insisted!

this all happened within 20 minutes.

i'm so thankful that she had a couple tags on. babydog parents, or people who have animals.. make sure that your animal has proper info on them so if some one finds them, they can get your baby back to you quickly. i'd die if this happened to me and no one could get ahold of me to give me him back!

anyway, that's all.

  • I rescued a dog a couple months ago similarly to yours. He was returned to owner.

I cant even imagine losing my furbaby. Good job sarack!

  • ..........my dogs don't wear collars.

but they're the type that we couldn't get rid of them if we tried. we joke with the dogs..telling them we're going to leave them forever. and we ditch them on walks. we open the front door a few mins later, they are always there waiting for us.

if the UPS man comes (he is friendly with our dogs), if i see his truck..i open the front door and let tigger run out to say hi. i don't go with him...i open the door later and he's outside waiting to get let back in.

when we go camping, they sleep outside with no tie-downs. (but we make them wear collars/tags while camping). they sleep right next to us, right outside the tent.

    we're bad dog parents.  Embarrassed

ETA: but yay for you! glad you called. i *would* be devastated if i lost my dogs..it just wouldn't happen....
