Date night with a kid.

Hey guys, im trying to find things to do, me and my other half dont really do date night so i want to start it, but we also have moved away from everyone we know and dont have a babysitter. So what can we do on date night with a kid ( our daughter shes 4)

Re: Date night with a kid.

  • Perhaps a (family friendly) restaurant? Or, if your area allows, a walk to the local ice cream parlor? It's hard without knowing whether you live in a metropolitan area or not. But I would stick to fun activities that won't bore your daughter, and also won't be inappropriate to bring kids. If you want an adults only date night, perhaps you could set up a candlelit picnic in the yard after your daughter goes to sleep?
  • love the picnic idea but yards a bit of a mess maybe i can do it in the lounge with some candles and some music and a blanket and maybe just make it desserts and chocolate paint.mmmmm thanks for the inspiration.

  • If you want activities with a kid, it's different than "date night."  Find a babysitter so you can have a grown up relationship, too.
  • im sure eventually we will find a babysitter it just we have only just moved here.

  • We do a "date" night a few times a week with like a cheese tray, a bottle of wine and a movie on the couch. It's actually pretty similar to the fancy movie theater here but in our pjs.

But you still need time alone. What do you do for child care? Some centers have a monthly parents night out, or if you like one of the teachers you can ask if they sit or know someone. Some gymnastics places do a parents night out too. One of our independent theaters has started offering child care during certain show times too.

"The meek shall inherit the earth" isn't about children. It's about deer. We're all going to get messed the fuckup by a bunch of cloned super-deer.- samfish2bcrab

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
  • Try Sittercity.com, or call your local high schools and ask the guidance counselor if they can recommend a responsible teen for babysitting.
