Happy Monday!

It would appear that these days sleeping in for me means 8:30.  Oh well, it's much later than I'm normally up on a Monday, so I'll take it.

Today should be both productive and lazy.  I managed to twinge something in my back again yesterday, so I'll likely be laid up on the couch with a heating pad for the better part of the morning, while Derek gets back down to work finishing up the drywall upstairs.  He's got his second coat of mud on most things.

Our weekend was pretty good.  Saturday we drove around and priced carpet out at a few places.  Tomorrow when the stores are open again we're heading down to place our order.  Yesterday Derek got a lot of work down while I did some shopping.  I picked up a few shirts and got a ton of groceries.  We did dinner at my mom's in honour of my birthday and then were home in reasonable time.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Happy Monday!

  • I hear you raynes.  I was up at 7:30 on Saturday for no reason.  You would think I'd be able to use that time to be productive, but nope.  I just end up watching tv until DH gets up!

Our weekend was ok.  We saw a couple of flats on Saturday, but nothing as good as what we have.  To stay in our area and budget, we'll probably have to downsize.  But that means figuring out how we can go from a 3 bdrm to a 2 bdrm, now that we'll need a baby room, too.  We have way too much stuff for the size of places here.

We went out to dinner on Saturday with friends.  At a polish place, where vodka shots are expected. My avoidance of alcohol was quite obvious. Later on, one of our friends asked me if congratulations were in order.  Man, I'm really not prepared to answer that question yet!  My knee-jerk reaction was to say no, but then she went on to say she hoped everything worked out ok and that she could put me in contact with friends of hers if I wanted help figuring out the health system here.  I apparently can't lie very well.

  • Morning ladies.

My weekend was pretty good. Friday night I ended up going to bed at 5.  I felt horrible by the time I left work, and just needed to lay down.

Saturday I ran some errands then came home and had some playtime with the boys. Yesterday we went to MIL's and had dinner and cake to celebrate one of our nephews birthday's. It was fun, but honestly when we are all together, I am so happy when it's time to leave.

Tonight I need to finish up laundry and put it away. I am hoping to be in bed early so I can finally kick the rest of this cold.

    Have a great day ladies.

  • Good morning, ladies! Back to work for me today Sad I feel like most of the town is off today; at least it sped up my commute a bit this morning.

I had a good weekend. I had a cold so I took it pretty slow. Friday night we went out for dinner and drinks with some friends. Saturday I got up and went shopping with my MIL and SIL for baby stuff for my niece. We had a lot of fun although my MIL must have asked me 10 times when we would start trying for a baby. It's become such a frequent question though that it's become more comical than anything else. I never give her a straight answer because I don't think that it's any of her business. If we were in fact trying though I probably would have slapped her.

Yesterday I did housework and laundry. It was nice to have a quiet day around the house. Today I want to get in a workout after work. I need to run to the grocery store but am rethinking that since it has potential to be busier than usual because of the holiday.

  • Good morning!

This weekend has been surprisingly productive - I can't remember the last time Phil and I had a 3 day weekend when we weren't travelling somewhere. We got some curtains up in our living room, put some art up and whatnot. Ooooh, I also have an exciting art project on the go - a DIY paint by numbers thing I'm really excited about. And, I'm starting my chest of drawers project today too.

I bit the bullet yesterday and bought some maternity jeans. Super comfy in the store, but now they keep falling down my body (taking my underwear with them)! So, too big for my old jeans, too small for maternity jeans. I should have picked up a belly band. Sad

In annoying pg news, I think my pelvis is going through that expansion stage, 'cause my hips, abdomen and inner thighs feel like I just ran a marathon with zero training and I ripped all the muscles along the way. I can barely move, and that really sucks given what I'd like to accomplish today. I thought stretching it out would help, but no such luck. Any suggestions?

Oh, and in annoying NON-pg news, the friend who I have over every Monday for Bachelor night/vegan fun (we're doing Thai tonight) asked if she could bring her sister over. Not a problem; know her sister, like her a lot. Then, the sister decided she would invite someone else too without asking. So, I'm super peeved off about the whole thing. The great thing about these Mondays is it's cooking and hanging out without any pressure to entertain. Now, I will be entertaining. I am not up for this. My friend texted me to let me know what her sister had done, so I decided I wasn't up for being the gracious host, and texted her back to let her know that it wasn't okay with me for him to come over. I feel a little bit jerky, but at the same time, there shouldn't have been an assumption made.

  • Our weekend was good. Jordan's bday is tomorrow so he had 2 friends spend the night Saturday night and then we had a small family party yesterday. It was nice but very busy. I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

Today is my first day back at work in a few days since I was out with P on Thursday on Friday. I am glad to be back and getting back to our routine but man it was hard to get up this morning. It also doesn't help I have tons of make up work to do.

  • kaesha - that's really sucky of your friends sister. I would have reacted the same way. hopefully next week, it'll just be you & your friend again.

my weekend was SUPER lazy. Saturday, I got up and went to the post office to mail a book I sold on Amazon (thank you for taking my text books, Amazon). then I came home and lounged around.

Saturday night was my best friend's bachelorette party - the one who is getting married in St. Thomas next month. the MOH hired a personal chef to come in and show us how to make a few dishes, and then we got to chow down. I thought it was such a great idea! after stuffing our faces, we went downtown to a bar, where I drank water and Shirley Temples all night long. it was, surprisingly, a LOT of fun, even though I was stone cold sober. I danced ALL night, and didn't get home until about 3am.

Sunday was extreme lazy day. I didn't wake up until 1:30 in the afternoon. Sean did the grocery shopping while I laid around. I feel like such a slacker. I'm really hoping my energy comes back soon.

  • Good morning!  I've been at home visiting with my sister this weekend and I head back to D.C. this evening.  It's been nice being home, but I'm missing Jim and the kitties.  I'll be happy to get back home, even if it means going back to work.

Wednesday, I have a second round interview for that new job.  Job vibes would be appreciated.

  • This weekend went really fast.  Saturday I worked for a couple hours and then went off to meet up with my new boss. I put in my two weeks on Thursday.  I can't believe I actually did it. I took a part-time job to cover expenses in our budget but I am really going to focus on my own business and my personal photography. I can't wait, but at the same time I am really NERVOUS.   So much so I couldn't sleep at all Saturday night.

Sunday was my nephews first birthday party that we hosted.  It was so much fun. Ollie took his first steps at his party about 6 in a row. He is such a sweetie.  After the party we found out we are going to have another niece or nephew, my brothers gf is pg.  In all honestly, I went into a bit of shock. Its my little brother and I couldn't wrap my self around it.  But I am really, really happy for them!

Today I am off to work hopefully it won't be to crazy.  I am still exhausted from yesterday!

  • Good morning, ladies.

We had a good hike yesterday, followed by some delicious burgers on the grill.  I also grilled some butternut squash, and it was yummy.  DH smoked some chicken on Saturday, so today's lunch is leftover chicken in a homemade pita.

It's going to be a long week at work.  I need to find a way to concentrate and stay more focused.  It's so hard, not knowing what's going on with the acquisition.  Some days I just don't care.

  • Good morning!

I'm extremely envious of anyone with a three day weekend. I couldn't fall asleep last night to save my life so I got up around midnight and took a sleep aide. I fell asleep quickly after that but woke up extremely groggy, I feel like I can't wake up.

My weekend was good. Saturday morning I slept in and then watched The Help, I loved it but of course as always the book was better. Saturday afternoon I clipped coupons, did meal planning, and went grocery shopping. I love the feeling of having a full stocked pantry and meals planned out.

Sunday was a lazy day. I did a little light cleaning and some laundry, but mostly laid on the couch and read Dead Until Dark. We also celebrated Valentines Day on Sunday with some chocolate fondue and all kinds of horribly wonderful sweet treats to dip.

  • Blerg this weekend was lazy and slightly productive. I studied for my upcoming exam and laid on the couch and watched way to much tv. It was raining here and so dreary I didn't want to do anything. In crap news I tried to set my alarm on my phone last night and it kept freezing so I let it be and asked Dh to wake me up. He usually get's up early on Monday's. He didn't tell me he didn't have to this week so I woke up irked that my phone didn't work and I slept in later than I wanted. My phone is still not working, I'm trying to fix that now and I desperately want to eat a box of chocolate covered salt injected peanuts. :/

  • Good morning!

This weekend was a blast. Although I had to work Friday, all day Saturday, and Sunday (curse you retail!) I was able to fit in a lot of much-needed time with friends. Friday was a movie date with my best friend, Saturday we attended a dinner out with DH's co-workers and boss who is highly more entertaining when intoxicated, and yesterday I went to a Passion Party hosted by one of my work pals and got to order a few goodies ;) I'm determined that today is going to be a productive day off work for me. I have a sweet 16 cake order to finish up but besides that my schedule is open and I have a list of errands and chores that I need to get myself motivated to finish up.

In other news the hubs and I decided that instead of Vegas this year we wanted to go bigger with our trip plans. With any luck we'll have a LO around next year so we wanted to fulfill our dream of traveling abroad now while we have the opportunity and so we just booked a European cruise for May!! We haven't purchased airfare yet so if anyone has any tips on getting a deal on tickets feel free to share. The prices change every hour and I'm clueless as to what determines the cost and worried I'll end up paying more than I should.

  • Good luck Reba!

Im still in Vegas. I'm meeting Neptoon for breakfast in a bit and hoping to grab a drink with Leo this afternoon.

We've had a great time hanging out with my parents.

  • DH and I had a fabulous weekend in Florence and a day trip out to the Tuscan region.  The weather was a bit rainy on Sunday, but it was much warmer than it has been here in Germany, so we can't really complain.  The food was fabulous, our hotel was wonderful, David was amazing, just an overall great weekend!

The downsides were that my feet and back were killing me by the end of the trip.  I guess I was not really prepared for the extra weight and changes in my body.  Also, our return flight was cancelled so a few hours were spent on the phone getting rescheduled on a new flight.  Not a huge deal, and it was easy to fix, but just one thing we didn't feel like dealing with.  Overall it was a great weekend and so glad that we got it in as one of our last trips.

Kari-have fun meeting up with everyone...so jealous!

  • We had a really nice weekend. Saturday we went to the used book store and I got the first Harry Potter book for $2. Score! We went to the park yesterday and Olivia went on the slide and the swings for the first time. She had such a blast that we'll be making it a regular thing.

Today is just another day of work. DH has the day off so he'll be making dinner. I'm hoping to have a laid back evening and be in bed by 10. Have a good day ladies!

  • I'm at work for a half day with the bub. People wanted to see him and daycare was closed. He is surprisingly well behaved. I always envision major meltdowns. We're heading to see DH soon too. Otherwise, tonight will be a lazy night and finishing up a giant bottle of wine that was so freakin delicious last night.

  • Hi ladies!

I had a pretty good weekend for the most part. Saturday was my Uncle's wedding, so I hung out with my dad all day. He took me out to sushi for lunch, I took him out shopping for a wedding gift for his brother, then we got ready and went down early for family pictures.

I've had two friends in town from Portland this weekend, so I've been squeezing in time to see them both as much as possible, since it's probably the last time we'll hang out til the baby gets here.

Yesterday was just a super lazy day. I did some homework, and a load of dishes, and that was literally it.

Nate and I both have today off, and we are making the most of it by just doing homework and cleaning up the house a bit. My cat is extra cuddly, which makes it hard to get alot done.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

  • I had a busy, busy weekend.  I worked Saturday, Sunday and today all 7-3 which are exhausting shifts.  I managed to hit the gym after work yesterday and got my run on a little bit after work today which made me feel better.

Now, I only work Thursday the rest of this week and I'm so excited to just chill out, maybe clean and organize.
