A few weeks ago, "Adam" posts a pic of his son, "Lance" on FB. Everyone is all "he's so cute...growing up so fast"...except for one girl, who posts "haha, so cute, are you sure he's yours? LOL!"
This makes Adam start thinking. He and "Lisa" were going through a rough patch in their marriage when Lisa got pregnant. He suspected she had cheated. He confronts her. Lisa is outraged, say's there no way she could ever cheat on him.
Adam stews on this for a while. Then they get a paternity test done. Adam is not the father.
He just posted that they are doing a trial separation and that even if Lance isn't his, he's going to fight for custody. I feel really bad for Adam, because Lance is 3 years old and Adam loves this kid. Ugh. But I would have let well enough be, because if your marriage is back on track, you love the kid and all, then why let DNA be an issue?
Re: Monday FB drama!
WTF is wrong with people?! I mean, in this case the kid wasn't biologically his, but whyTF would you even post something on FB saying "are you sure he's yours?"
The same f?cking thing happened to my sister and of course my nephew is biologically related to her (good for nothing, POS) husband, but that caused a TON of drama. I still can't stomach being around that loser or his idiot friends that started it all thinking they were being cute and funny.

That's the thing...the real dad was some random hookup with a guy while she was out of state with some friends. So, the chances of finding the guy are pretty slim.
As for the girl who made the comment, I haven't seen her comment on anything else, so she must be feeling bad.
Oh, wow...that's awful! People think their comments are just so funny and clever, but sometimes they dig deeper than intended.
wow, drama city, indeed!!
Honestly, if I didn't know they were ever going through a rough patch and the kid was super cute I may say that ("are you sure he's yours?") in a joking manner (as in, "your kid is cute. you are not. are you sure he's yours?") but now... I doubt I'll ever say that again.
I agree though, DNA shouldn't be a factor if "Adam" has been a Dad to "Lance" for 3 years. And yes, she cheated, but it was 3 years (+9 months) ago... I would hope they would try to work through it.
No, I get the "joke" part of it....although I have to say, the bolded/underlined is kinda mean, regardless if the kid is his or not...

I'm hoping they work this out, because they are a really good family together
I feel bad for Adam. It's one thing if he knew she cheated and forgave her, but I'd be pretty upset if my whole life was a lie for the past 3 years. It wasn't right of his wife to try to trap him with a kid that wasn't even his. If they do split, I hope he gets custody of Lance. At the very least he deserves visitation rights.
Regardless, maybe Lisa and Adam can try to work things out through counseling. She has to honestly be sorry and try to make things up to him, otherwise the kid will suffer from their bad marriage. I'm so glad Adam isn't running out on Lance, no matter what happens.
Thanks for posting this story. It taught me a lesson about how I should be more careful with how I joke with people. I'd feel so awful being that FB poster.
WOW!
My lesson is to watch what I say. You may destroy a family.
I'm kinda curious if she (the wife) knew it wasn't his - or if she just hoped it was Adam's since her cheating was a one-night-stand.
Whoa! That's crazycakes!
The part that scares me the most is that is SO something M would say to his buddies or vice versa, so reading it initially, I chuckled, since it's just how those guys are to each other, even though we'd all know no one would mean it. It's sad that the situation is what it is, but I bet that chick feels HORRIBLE.
