Huh. How would you feel about this?
Re: Huh. How would you feel about this?
Luckily my husband is far too sensible for that.
But yes... I would never let it happen. Especially with two mortgages. Save some of it for fun, sure, but the majority needs to go towards those mortgages, college funds for the kids... whatever.
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
I read that earlier, too. I wouldn't be able to agree to that. His "dream" is jeopardizing their financial future. It's irresponsible to be in debt with two mortgages and three kids and spend that much money on something that will literally sit in the garage (well, it will if he wants to keep any value in the car).
I'd be livid and demand marriage counseling to attempt to work out a compromise. I wouldn't have a problem with him taking a percentage of it (10-20, maybe) to do as he pleases, but a full six figures gone?
Things like that are opportunities to get ahead in life. They'd be stupid to squander it away on something that won't benefit them in the long run. I also thought it was hilarious that she thought that if they got into a financial bind, she'd expect the car to be gone. Like he'll ever sell that thing, you know? He's been dreaming about it to begin with, and now that he's going to buy his dream car with his dead mother's money? You'd be lucky to pry it out of his cold, dead fingers.
I don't understand the thought process of it is 'his' money - while all of her bonus money has been going to pay down THEIR debt. I mean, WTF. He sounds immature.
No.
