Cincinatti Girls

We are big Detroit tigers fans and a good friend of ours is a huge Reds fan. Anyway by some miracle they are actually playing each other this year in a weekend series in Cincinatti which is actual closer a drive for us than our annual trip to Detroit. We are planning to come for the entire series June 8-10. I want to plan some other things to do with t while we are there. We may be obligated to a seeing family one day, but we should have atleast part of two days to do something T would love!! I heard there might be a good aquarium. Any other suggestions besides a zoo (we have a yearly pass to our one in Indiana). Also any recs for a hotel that won't break the bank since we will be there 2 maybe 3 nights but isn't in a bad part of town? Thanks girls!!!!

Re: Cincinatti Girls

  • The Newport Aquarium, the Cincinnati Zoo, and Kings Island (amusement park).  Also, Great Wolf Lodge.

As for hotels, it kind of depends on where you plan to spend the most time.  There are plenty of decent hotels in any area of the city.

  • What Sara said.  The aquarium is great.  You could do Ride the Ducks afterwards.  Kings Island is awesome, but it might be expensive for just doing little rides.

If it were me, I'd do priceline for downtown.  I've stayed downtown for $50.  Most places there you do have to pay for parking, so be careful of that.  You can walk to the stadium from most of them.  Let us know when it gets closer.  There really is a lot to do, it's just figuring out scheduling.

  • Sharonville, OH has a lot of decent hotels, a little cheaper than the downtown area. It's a business man's area, is right by I75 and only15 minutes from downtown.

Things to do and see with a little one:

Voice of America Park in West Chester (Free)
Aquarium in Newport, KY ($23/person, discount tix at Kroger, 2 and under Free)
Entertrainment Junction in West Chester ($13.50/person, 2 and under Free)
Surf Cincinnati, in Sharonville, no idea on cost, indoor waterpark
Kings Island, Mason, Ohio, more expensive and large scale
Union Terminal/Cincinnati Museum Center/Children's Museum, whatever they are calling it nowdays, downtown - its actually a pretty great Children's Museum.

Do you mean CoCo Key?  Surf Cincinnati is long gone, sadly.  I loved that place growing up.

  • Discover what I can do on my own..

Yeah, I remember that.  Just a little.

  • You girls are awesome!!! I'm leaning toward the aquarium the most! I mentioned kings island to DH so him and our friend could ride coasters while T and I hang out in Hanna Barbara land...however, now that I found out I'm pg I'm not sure about hauling T around essentially by myself and not riding anything with her. I saw commercials for the Great Wolf Lodge. It was pretty expensive though and I'm not sure how much T could do. Thanks for the help!!
