  • Growing up, there was always a big bowl of punch with the refreshments after friday night service at my synagogue. This is the recipe often used, from the Kosher Yankee cookbook that the sisterhood from my parents' synagogue puts out. I've never made it!

     Rosy Glow Punch

    3 quarts cranberry juice cocktail

1 12oz can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed

    1/2 gallon raspberry sherbet

    1 quart ginger ale

Combine cranberry juice and concentrate. Stir well; chill. Just before serving, pour into four quart punch bowl. Add scoops of sherbet. Slowly add ginger ale.

As aside, I've also seen people skip the sherbet and instead freeze like 1/4 of the punch in a bundt pan. Then you can put that into the punch as the "ice" and it won't dilute as it melts - just add the ginger ale to the juice, then add the ring of frozen juice/lemonade.
