Expedia - 2 Credit Cards

We're about to pull the trigger and book our HK and JP tickets. It comes to about $2800 and our highest limit CC is 2500. We have the cash to pay it off but want to buy it on CC so we can get the points.

Anyone know if Expedia, or Airline sites allow you to enter 2 credit cards?

Re: Expedia - 2 Credit Cards

  • Doubtful you could do that via an online interface.  If you can put the reservation on hold and then call in, probably.

Alternatively, a $500 increase in your credit card limit will probably get approved instantly by calling your bank.  Why don't you go that route?

  • From expedia's website:

To make your payment, you have the following options:

    • You can pay using one card or split the payment between two cards. Please note: Split payment is not available for flights or hotel payments. Some vacation packages can be paid for with a split payment.
    • You can also make a deposit upon booking, and then pay off the remainder by 30 days before your departure or reservation. Find out more at Payment Options.

This.  They don't allow the convenience of splitting the total across cards for flight purchases only.

This. And I think a higher limit would be good to have for the trip, too, in case there's an emergency and you need to fly home or something.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

  • I am fairly certain that even if you book directly through the airline, if you are buying plane tickets it all has to go on one card.  Of course I haven't worked in the industry in 7+ years so that could have changed...
