2 part ?....RE: C25K and Plus size workout clothes
Hi!
I just signed up for my first 5k run! I am freeking. I want to start a C25K workout this week. I can walk forever...but not a runner yet. Anyone use C25K apps on iphone? If so, whats your favorite one and why?
Also...What is a good website or store that I can buy active wear that has good plus size workout clothes? I get annoyed when I exercise right now, I dont have good workout clothes and my pants/underwear will fall down all the time. So annoying and distracting from what I am trying to do.
Thanks!!!
Re: 2 part ?....RE: C25K and Plus size workout clothes
I like the C9 brand from Target and they go to XXL which is about equal to an 18, maybe a 20. I like that their pants come in lengths. Old Navy also has size XXL and I think they run bigger than C9.
There's also Just My Size http://www.justmysize.com/plus-size/workout and Xersion from JCP http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/XGN.aspx?deptid=82582&dep=PLUS+SIZE&catid=82807&pcat=PLUS+SIZE&cat=activewear&pcatid=82582&Ne=4294957900+3+11+1031+8+586+1545&N=868+4294932427&SO=0&cattyp=RLE&Nao=0&PSO=0&x5view=1&CmCatId=70656|81024|82807&SelDim=8~
We sound to be about the same. I am a 16/18 and buy most of my things at either Target or Pennys. There are some plus sized items at New Balance that I looked at, but I am pretty cheap to when it comes to buying things that will get all sweaty. Old Navy also has some bigger sizes, but I am not a fan.
For c25k apps, I use an app called Ease Into 5k. I am pretty happy with it. I went through it once, ran a 5k, but then slowed down. I am back at it in week 3.
Good luck!
Kohls has plus size workout clothes online http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/womens_plus/activewear.jsp, their Tek Gear brand it good and well priced, I also find Nike stuff at TJMaxx and Marshalls sometimes. If you have a hanes outlet, the Champion stuff is good too, but tends to run a little small IMO
I like Kohls or Old Navy for pants (I'm a large in pants, but I'm large chested, so I like big shirts and so I get XXL)
I like the Danskin Now activewear at Walmart - reasonably priced and I could fit in the XXL (which is technically a 20) when I was a 22 or so).
I also like Old Navy's Compression workout gear which also goes up to XXL. It's reasonably priced and holds everything in place during intense workouts.
ETA: I also noticed that Lane Bryant is now carrying reebok workout clothes now if you need something a little larger than XXL.

Thanks for all the info! I sure I will be able to find something comfortable to work out in with these options.
I am starting the C25k Sunday....Hope it goes well. I downloaded a few apps for it on phone and think the Ease into 5k seems the best. I love that I can put my own music to it.
Thanks again!
Im nervous about the 5k. Was it easier or harder than you expected it to be? I am going to be starting the Ease Into 5k Sunday...
