Anyone still around? I need help with booze.

haha, that got your attention, yes?

Ok, I'm having 2 going-out-of-business SP parties this weekend.  One Fridya night, one Saturday afternoon.  I'm planning on having soft-baked sugar cookies and some kind of alcoholic beverage.

I was thinking originally Sangria (my porch pounder recipe) with various citrius fruits, but then I saw this recipe and though how easily I could spike it with vodka or even champagne or something for a more punch-like recipe.

I don't want to do both. I need something that will work for both an evening party and an afternoon party.

Thoughts?  Or other ideas?

  • I think those both sound really good and you could definitely spike that recipe, no problem.

  • Do the punch!  If you want it to last all afternoon/ evening, then do the punch and don't use sparkling wine or it'll go flat!

Well it's for Friday night and Saturday afternoon.  I'll make 2 separate batches, but I just want to be able to buy one set of ingredients.  KWIM?

I second the punch if you are going to make 2 separate batches.

  • I agree with the punch too. I love me some sangria but I think the punch will just work better for your scenario.
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

  • ok, so punch it is.  The recipe calls for blood orange Italian soda and sparkling peach juice.  Do we think it will be too much bubbly to add champagne/sparkling wine to that?

Nah.  Once it is bubbly there's no such things as too bubbly.
