We fly to Puerto Rico to depart on a 7 day cruise in July. Our first stop is in St. Thomas on July 9th, which is our 1 year anniversary, so I want to be sure hubby and I spend the day in a very special way. This is our first cruise together too though, so we probably won't be hard to please.
I've read in various places that St. John is not to be missed, and it would be totally worth it to take a ferry from St. Thomas to St. John and just spend the day there. What do you all think? It will be our 1st anniversary and I want it to be a special day. We dock in St. Thomas at 8am and have to be back on the boat at 5 or 6.
Please share your opinions/experiences. Thanks
Re: Would you rather spend a day in St. Thomas or St. John?
sounds like we are taking the same cruise. we've been to STT a handful of times, so this trip we are spending the day sailing over to St John doing this:

we looked into taking a ferry over to St John but the scheduled times were unfavorable in my opinion.
I would vote for St. John. But I also hate St. Thomas!! The only thing I would recommend is finding out how many ships are in port with you in St. Thomas, if there are more than 2 or 3 the traffic getting to the ferry and then back to the ships gets very congested and might not be worth your time.
The couple times we have had a lot of island traffic in St. Thomas we just stay on the ship because it's nearly empty and makes for a great pool day!
